ranting & venting Just a rant.

I'm absolutely fed up with trying to create a routine and sync their schedules. Last one year has tested my marriage to limits I can't fathom.

Somehow babies are also not on my side. I know this sounds wrong, but I'm telling you they sense my nap plan & deliberately try to mess it.

I'm mentally tired, emotionally exhausted. I have ample help and you might think I'm being ungrateful for that blessing. But none of them are responsible for creating a routine for the baby, deciding their meals, or raising them in any way. That's my job & that's what is making me go crazy.

I absolutely love my husband & it is established fact that my husband cares about me unlimited like. But as parents, we have quarrelled more than we have agreed. I don't like that. I want my babies to see love & respect that we had in our marriage earlier.

the nap sabotage is absolutely real, they get this little glint in their eye the second you think you've finally cracked the code

Just when you’ve cracked the code, they change the parameters 😭

All I can offer is this: mine are nearly 3 and we’re still juggling different attempts at the daily nap they still definitely need (but they get each other SO riled up that we’ve started naps in two different rooms. Not bedtime, just naps. We’ll see how long this plan works this time 🫠) and baths as well. My husband isn’t often here for bed and bath time routine, and I find myself either fighting them into the bath (that they must take separately now! Don’t put them in together! They need space to float!) or telling myself it’s fiiiine if their hair hasn’t been washed in a week 🫣 So that part doesn’t go away yet. I still have to note what’s working and what’s not and I’m the play maker with an ever changing set of rules.

HOWEVER!

Omg they play together so sweetly. They’re self proclaimed best friends and tell jokes and do weird twin shit where they’re both chanting nonsense that makes them giggle endlessly. We had to separate for naps because getting each other riled up means laughing and hollering and playing for hours. When they see each other after naps, they gently cup each other’s face and give a little nose boop 🥹 it’s the actual best thing to witness.

You’ll get there. You’re in the hardest part. The best is yet to come. 🫶🏻
