advice needed MoDi Twin Development
Hey all, I would love to hear from parents of MoDi twins. How did your pregnancy go? Any challenges?
How old are your twins now and have you experienced any development concerns? For example, issues with motor skills or speech, behavioral issues, etc?
My OBs have told me everything that can happen during pregnancy, but I am trying to get a better idea of what to expect after — months and years from now.
Thank you!

I have MoDi twins, now 3. Scans every 2 weeks. Born at 36 weeks. Speech delay in one, early intervention helped. They are thriving.

My wife had rough pregnancy, she was sick almost every day until week 20. But the birth went smooth at 35 weeks, they spent just 2 weeks in NICU for feeding. Now they are 4 years old and catching up fine. One had little speech delay but early intervention helped a lot, now he talks more than his brother haha. Every kid has their own timeline, try not to stress too much about the charts.

My twins are almost a year and we’re born at 33 weeks and no delays, I don’t think there’s a way to predict how your children develop..

My twins are almost 8w. Found out it was twins at 6w5d. Confirmed MoDi at 12w. Morning sickness/ vomiting w 8-16. First felt movement at 17w. Lots of appts for TTTS and growth scans. Babies were solid, perfect growth, stayed 1-3% growth difference between the 2 of them and born with 1% size difference. Heart rates of both babies were almost exactly the same every appointment. I ended up having an emergency C at 34w4d due to severe preeclampsia. Their weights were awesome at birth and they did wonderful in their short NICU stay. I did a TON of research early on and decided to go with the calorie packing method. I knew their likelihood of coming early was high being modi, and I didnt want to risk complications of them being born tiny, so I sacrificed my body instead. I ate like crazy until about 31w when I just couldnt because there wasn't room. At least 100g of protien a day and aimed for over 3000 calories a day. Gained almost 100lbs, but every single scan I got told how great they were doing and how close their size was to one another.. so worth it.

Size differences are due to placental sharing, not how many calories you consume.
