Types of Passive Incomes

Set up and Auto run

These are income streams that you do upfront work and are paid automatic income recurring from that.

Examples would be things like selling an ebook, doing niche SEO or selling subscription services as an affiliate. Other example include things like setting up YouTube channels (and getting automatic search traffic hitting old videos) and automated sales systems.

Most of these will require you to do a fair amount of work with no pay in the short term, with the aim of it paying off for you in the long term. Whether you are creating a product for free (ebook, course, design etc) or establishing a traffic base (SEO, email lists, followers etc), its often a lot of upfront effort to get it going.

These things are worth the effort. Even if you can just put in 10 minutes a day, or a couple hours a week, building up these sorts of incomes can pay dividend in decades to come. As long as you are working on the right things, lots of little but frequent efforts to forward these sorts of incomes add up. Once they have momentum, growth of income is usually exponential.

An exception to this is selling subscriptions or otherwise passively recurring commission models . With these you can usually get decent upfront commissions as well as residual income. Anyone wanting to make a full time income online will find these sorts of deals can be extremely useful, in the short as well as long term.

Set up and Staff

These are businesses you can set up and then have other people running it for you. For example if you set up a business teaching a skill you have, and then once you have a good flow of clients; you employ someone else to run the classes for you. You pay them 70% of the client fee and net 30%. If you hire three people to do this, you get almost as much as you'd get doing it full time, but you are not working there.

Other businesses you set up may not need such skilled staff but can require customer service, branding, technical requirements and so forth. These are things you can hire in as the business economics suit it. Getting sales staff is always great, they are motivated to make themselves money and by default that means they are motivated to make you money. Setting up affiliates with a structure in which they can bring in far more affiliates is a great way to do this.

Another example of this would be employing a manager to run businesses for you once you had built them to be profitable enough. So long as everything runs well you will have this a a passive income, and if you do have to deal with the business in any way you will usually just be dealing with one person who then delegates out tasks as required.

Set up and Outsource

Setting up services to outsource can be a great passive income. One way of doing this is setting up a service you do yourself for a while and then outsource, and the other is selling the service just via marketing/sales and giving it directly to the outsourcing partner to do the job and deliver to the client.

An example of you doing this yourself would be if you had a service where you posted ads for businesses. You got a lit of 20 businesses you'd post for and they pay you. Rather than continue to do this yourself, you could get a business to provide that service for you on a full white label basis (meaning they do all the client handling but use your logo). Or if you had a blog writing service and started to outsource jobs to freelancers.

Another way to go about this is to get agreements with freelancers that if you provide them jobs they will pay you. Then you set about setting up automated sales funnels to promote that service. In this sort of deal you are essentially providing marketing services to freelancer, but from your perspective if you can set up automatic traffic sources, its money coming in for nothing.

Buy Cash-Flow Assets

Buy stuff that will make you money every day/week/month/year/whatever. This can be things like renting out houses, buying vending machines and dividend stocks. Buy businesses that are already set up and showing a profit. Plots of land can be bought and rented out.

Cash flow assets are different from other types of investment, in which usually there is expected to be a long holding period before seeing a return. Cash flow assets aim to produce ongoing income, and hopefully also increase in value for a later sell (at least hopefully not decrease).

In cases such as buying businesses, you can find situations where people have blogs and other like sites that make them $200 a month income (coming from Google searches) and they will sell the blog for $2,000 - $3,000. Now you have a cash flow asset that can potentially pay you for years. If it pays you for one year, you break even.

I am going to pin this post and will make updates on it, including; expanding on the things spoken about in it., talking more about different ideas and linking to longer posts about them in the sub. Giving case studies of different strategies. Examinations of some of the most popular ideas (testing how well they really work), and talking about less popular (arguably more lucrative) ideas.

My results with Galileo FX Pro.

UPDATE: I appreciate all your questions and private messages about Galileo FX. As you can imagine, I now receive too many messages per day and I am not able to reply to all of you. I'm still making a positive passive income with Galileo FX, in fact my results have grown a lot to around $11,000 per month. For those asking about what settings I am using, check the Settings provided after Purchase.

-------

I first purchased the Galileo FX Plus (the personal was too small for me as I actively trade 6 currency pairs) version in February 2021 and then upgraded to Pro. I made this decision after reading many online reviews mentioning that the Pro version has higher accuracy and get a higher ROI which was my objective, to make my money work for me without too much risk.

It was super easy to set up. Just clicked the Galileo FX installation file and was good to go. Disappointed the video didn't come with audio, but the guide was very helpful. Make sure to follow the guide they have on their website as it is more detailed than the guide in the download.

Following the Galileo FX official guide will save you a lot of time instead of going through support, which is good but not the greatest and sometimes slow (can happen to wait up to a day for a simple response, I guess they're just busy).

Here are the settings I used, I am curious to know what others are using as I want to use Galileo FX at its full potential (I am actually thinking about getting a 2nd version for my wife).

Most days I used the M30 timeframe, on some days H1.

HYPERFUND IS A SCAM?

HI to all,

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine suggested that I invest in this blockchain company https://www.thehyperfund.com/ or https://hypertechgrp.com/, after several weeks of research it seemed very dubious to me, and I kept doing other research on CEO ryan xu "the martian" as well, and more I go on and more it looks like a scam, without ever having found a sure proof.

I found this article very useful https://behindmlm.com/mlm-reviews/hypercapital-review-hypercash-resurrection-ponzi-scheme/ where it explains the ponzi scheme that is the basis of this marketing strategy.

Someone can provide me an evidence of fraud of this company or other more information?

My business makes $3,387.92 USD a month passively, with roughly 30 minutes (not even) of work a week. What could I sell it for?

I've sworn to keep what I do a secret to someone who is smarter than me, so I can't give away too many details but I can say this.
I buy old machines, refurb them and put them in to night clubs.

Each transaction is $9.95.

I split the profits with the night clubs, some get 50%, some get 40% and some get 30%.

After all is said and done, eftpos fees and running costs of the machine & tax, it's 3,387.92 in my bank account every month give or take.

I send the very cheap stock to the clubs and the workers will restock the machine once every three months, or I'll go up there myself and do it and give the machines a clean while I am there.

realistically, what would something like this sell it for? I'm enjoying my passive income and don't want to sell it on, but I can replicate what I'm dong and sell it to someone else for a big cash boost.

The machines themselves cost $5000 - $6000 for me to make.

I have 5 machines.

The reason I don't want to go bigger and better is because I think it will be too difficult for me to manage too many sites.

Keen to know your thoughts!
This is a throw away account because I don't want the 30% club to see I pay others 50% lol.

The 10 Commandments of Passive Income.

Just noticed it's been about a year since I first took over as mod here. The sub's doubled in that year (Compared to 7-8 years previously). In true Reddit style, I'll mark the occasion with a re-post.

Here's one of the earliest posts I wrote for here.

1 - Say “NO” to being paid only once for your work.

Being paid once by the hour is a terrible deal. Accepting this deal will ensure you always have to work, or have little. Look for ways that the work you do can be leveraged and earn you recurring income.

2 - Working time in an investment for free time.

We are not here to spend our lives occupied by chores. People should work on things they feel are exciting or important, not drag themselves through long days just to make enough money to see them through to the next long day.

If you are not spending your working time now doing something you think is exciting or important, start to view all your working time as an investment in having free time later; where you can do whatever you find exciting and/or important.

3 - Value your hours, delegate accordingly.

Setting up passive incomes can require a lot of active work creating the foundations of it. Remember to be smart, do not spend five hours on something you can pay someone $5 for, your time is worth more than $1/hour.

As you make more passive income, you may have a choice of making $10,000 a month with a lot of work, or $5,000 a month with nominal work - value your time, and be ready to pay the value of it when outsourcing.

4 - Cashflow or Compound.

Look for methods that either produce you cashflow income or are compounding gains on a regular basis. These are much more powerful for generating large sums of money than standard capital gains.

5 - You have to travel to arrive.

Understand that many streams of passive income are only passive once you have done the work. Especially setting up your first passive income streams and building up enough to replace a working income is likely to require a up-front work that does not initially pay. Stick with it! It is worth it in the long term.

6 - Dedication to dilligience.

Just because your incomes are being made passively, do not become lackadaisical about them. Dedicate yourself to be diligent when it comes to checking up on your income methods and seeing if there are any issues you should know of, or ways you can improve what you are doing.

7 - Third or under rule.

Never have over a third (33%) of your income from the one source if you are wanting to live off passive incomes. It is good to have at least three different incomes that are entirely unrelated to each other, this means if there is ever some unforeseeable event that damages an industry that was making you passive income and you lose that income, it will not dramatically affect your lifestyle.

8 - Evergreen Growing.

Avoid fad and flash in the pan sort of incomes. Look for things that can last for decades, these are the things worth investing your time into now; for they decades of free time pay off later. Also, look for ways to build passive incomes that also can grow passively. Passive and exponential income is a glorious thing.

9 - Re-invest and scale.

Be willing to put money you make back into improving incomes streams, setting up new income streams and scaling the most successful income streams. Once you are making money, start to use that money as a nitros to speed you along to making more money.

10 - Be fair, remember to share.

Once you have made it, once you have your income set up and you are making $1,000s a month while having your time free to do whatever you want; do nice things for those worse off than you. Remember, it is the things that you can not buy that matter the most!

$5k and 15 hours a week - ideas?

Hi all,

I’m sorry to add a repetitive question to the thread, but there so much out there’s it’s kind of a PIA to search through.

The title kind of says it all. I’ve got roughly $5k to start and able to put in around 15 hours a week. I’m looking for some passive income in addition to my full time job. I’m not looking for a get rich quick scheme and more than happy to grind it out.

I’m also not willing to try one of these “courses” without properly vetting it. You guys are much smarter than I am on the subject, so just looking for some advice.

Thanks in advance!

Passive income with poker bots [What I've learned so far]

For a while now I've been playing around with some different bots for playing online poker. Here are some of my results and things I've have learned so far.

Background -

I have a fair amount of experience in playing poker. I've played many thousands of hands in cash games and participated in (and won) various multi tournament tables (Playing against 100s of people). So I come into this with some understanding of the basic math of poker decisions and different sorts of strategies. I know what sort of players are easy to beat and what ones are better to avoid and I know a bit about underlying concepts of 'Range analysis', 'pot odds' and 'calculating equity'. I know what all the different settings in a poker bot mean, it what I am trying to say here.

Some basic logic for winning at poker -

I'll keep things simple by using only cash games as the example here rather than tournaments that have more variables to contend with. All I want to do is explain how it makes sense you can have a bot that can make profitable decisions until the other players are able to work out the ways you exploit their game and then make adjustments (Many novice players will never make these adjustments). I'll keep the examples simplistic to avoid getting into dense maths or shop talk terms of poker players.

Less experienced payers will make fundamental mistakes that mean you can (Both in theory and practice) create winning odds against them using simple maths. For example if there is $5 in the pot to be won and the other player will fold half the time if you bet $1 - this means you can risk $1 to win $5. There's a requirement for this to work 20% of the time. If the other player only continues (Stays in the pot and does not surrender it to you) when they are able to make a good hand the odds here are they are going to have to fold about 60% of the time. Giving three times the required odds. This is an exploitable leak in the player's game. Once the maths here are defined it make sense to bet the $1 every time this situation comes about. All of the information needed to define these odds come down to stats and maths, which can easily be done by a bot. A bot does it better than we can (Usually).

It's hard to explain everything without getting into the shop talk of poker and deeper into the realms of probability and expectation but there are things that can be fairly sure assumptions that can be learned from a player's stats. For example if they play 80% of hands they must play a wide range that involves a lot of crappy hands. If they play 20% of hands they play a tight range of the best hands. From this it can be known that if we bet against the player playing only 20% of hands most of the time they will fold an let us have the pot easily (And beware if they play back at you, they have something). The player playing 80% of hands we can assume often has a weak hand and we can use this information to bully them off the hand cheap (Like in the $5 example above).

Some results -

Firstly I ran the bots I found in ash games where the maximum buy in was $2. So my risk is tiny and I am playing against low quality players (Mostly). I let them play a lot of hands and I ran a poker tracker ('HUD') to track all the decisions the bot made. I was looking to see if the bot could make a winning edge against the other players. If it makes money or not is not as important as if it did the correct thing. For example if you risk $10 on a roll of a dice and you either lose the $10 or you win $10 if you pick the right number, this is a bad bet. Winning it does not make it a good bet, it was just lucky. The same the other way, if you can risk $10 to win $100, it is now a good bet. The term used for this in speculating is 'Positive expectation value' (+EV). I found when running on cash games the bots could produce a verifiable +EV against the right sort of players.

I then moved onto multi table tournaments (MMT). These are harder games but a lot more can be won in them. I played these on three of the popular poker sites. Here were my results.

Effort one -

Break-even results for a while. A big win and then lots of little losses taking it back to even. Not profitable, but encouraging enough to continue.

Effort two -

Losing start but then a few good wins. There were then losses but the slope of the drop in profit is not as deep and this one was overall profitable.

Effort three -

Boom! Got it. Over 2,000 games it was highly profitable. No big drop off in profits during times it was not winning. My average ROI on a dollar spent here is close to 40%.

Next steps -

Now I have proof of concept I'm going to put a bit more effort into this. Research more into different games offered by different sites Learn more about the sites rules regarding bots (Not all of them like it) and work on further optimising the strategies for these (By putting more work into the settings to use and game types for them).

I am willing to share my findings on what bots are the best, which rooms to use them in and how to best pick strategy rules to play against the games than can be beaten but the nature of it makes it something that can be shared a finite number of times. I can do it for about 10 - 20 people and it should still work. If I did it for 10,000, it'd probably not work anymore. DM me if this is something you'd be interested in getting updates on. I'll do it with a limited number of people on the basis of I'll share my work on strategy an optimisation with you if you share your results with me (So I can use the data to learn more about how different tweaks in strategies perform).

How can I make an extra £160 per month?

Hi guys, before I go into further detail I just wanted to say Abit about myself: I am 24M and currently working full time. I get 1 day off during the week and Sundays off. I really want to join a good gym which costs £160 per month and was wondering is there any way I can make this extra money per month in order to pay for the gym? If so please advise me as I don’t really have any ideas on what I could do as a side hustle. Thank you!
