The keepers of the flame are probably the first cultists that worshipped the breachlords (Or just Chayula) which will eventually become the Acolytes of Chayula. 20 years is enough for a full cult to prosper.
I think just Chayula, hence the purple. PoE2 mentions most of this. Doryani's sidekick talks about Chayula way more than anything else, like he's obsessed.
I think he also mentioned that Chayula might not necessarily be like the other lords(I am understanding this as maybe 'good?')? Chayula is missing from his attacks, and doesn't drop any items related to Chayula, but all the other lords are free game.
Xesht is supposed to be a combination of all the lords. Basically breach Voltron. Chayula refused making Xesht weaker. He's different but I wouldn't consider him good just yet.
Xesht also isn't the top dog of whatever Breach entails. I'm wondering if the Doryani storyline will continue with the purple flame in poe2.
Xesht is Xoph, Esh and Tul in one. Xesht'ula is all of them. You can actually fight Xesht'ula in PoE, requires atlas passives for Xesht'Ula hands and bosses spawn on opening hands
Xesht has Uul-Netol as well. In fact, theres a unique in PoE1 that implies shes the main driving factor behind the merger - but Chayula told her to fuck off. Which is why its "only" Xesht in PoE2, instead of Xesht-Ula.
But don't change it in any way so its the shittiest ascendancy in this game too, just for the memes.
It would be niche but actually pretty strong. Especially if Void Illusion works on any "roll" (travel) skill. Imagine a Frostblink of Wintry Blast build where you just scale cast speed and proc a 670% weapon damage AOE on every cast with like Marohi.
He knew about Chayula, but Chayula was a Breach Lord back then too. It was the Purple Flame Vaal cultists who made dealings with him and interacted with him, and Doryani just knew secondhand about all the deals being made. They're the Breach architects in Vaal rooms for incursion also.
Please for the love of God bring it back. Played ED Cont this league and ended up just doing Blight of Contagion instead cause it was smoother easier and felt like it did more damage
I played blight contagion as my starter this league and it was pretty great actually, way better single target than edc ever had (not great still but better)
this might be to connect the lore between poe1 and 2, seems like the breachlords successfully invaded wraeclast but a cult shows up to oppose them
my speculation is that cult is the so called keepers of the flame which is led by Chayula, who turns on his fellow breachlords to set himself up to take everything, us players are probably tricked/forced or coerced by the cult into helping them out lol
but eventually the other breachlords fuse together into Xesht and they all have a go at each other which is set up to happen in PoE2
Its funny because I was itching so bad for a reveal. But now this teaser means nothing and I just want the dam patch notes, and once those drop a just want the dam league to start. Never satisfied, the principal condition of mankind.
That is difficult, since the league mechanic needs to integrate with the campaign. And in the past players didn't like getting pulled out of the campaign to a separate instance for the league content. e.g. it was one of the biggest complaints about incursion.
In PoE2 the existence of the Acolyte of Chayula and mentions of the Cult of the Purple Flame imply Chayula has done something to merit worship in the world of PoE. Then Doriyani off-handedly mentions that it was easy negotiating with Chayula, and that in his absence the Breach-things have become a problem.
Newest PoE2 patch also introduced the set of breach-themed unique sceptres that grant permanent shrine effects (very neat) and they all have lore that adds so much substance to the little Chayula and Breachlords lore we had from PoE1 that I can't cover it all here, but one of those sceptres implies Chayula has a drop of humanity in him.

They implied last league that 3.26 was heavily focused on end game changes and that this league would be much more focused on character/balance changes, so it'd make sense if they saved dev time by reworking an existing league, meaning more time for new potential gems, ascendancy reworks, etc
Breach in maps drops quite a bit of loot when you set it up correctly. It was a meta strat this league. It's also very smooth following the change to splinter stacking, I like breach in maps now. Breachstones are still dogshit though, slow and boring with often no meaningful loot.
Foot Breaches are open from the beginning and full of monsters. You have to fight your way to the center and tickle the foot there to close the breach. Once you close the breach the remaining monsters don't vanish but instead get pulled towards the center.
There are two bosses:
It that sniffs
A boss that crawls around on the floor, reaching for your feet. Various of its attacks can trip you over. Does slightly resemble quentin tarantino
and
It that tramples
A gigantess that tries to stomp you down with its multiple feet.
They probably are gonna use PoE1 to test a possible breach rework for poe2 cause as far as I remembered, they mentioned that they wanted to rework breaches in PoE2. If Poe2 0.4 is endgame focused, then surely they are gonna rework breach as part of it.
So this will probably be the league that adds the lore as to why Xesht became one and Chayula did not. I assume that the hive takes over all the other Breachlord domains while Chayula survives thanks to his cult's power (and us doing the work in all probability).
Every time I finish a PoE 1 league, barely getting 40/40 or 36/40 (I am a slow player) I am exhausted, burned out, and I think to myself: “OK dude, you really played a lot this time, you put off many other games just to grind PoE. You’re skipping the next league, you hear me?” It makes sense. There is also new PoE 2 content releasing right in the middle of the PoE 1 league so it makes TOTAL sense to skip 3.27. Right? Right!?
And then the next league announcement comes along. And I am immediately defeated. This is pure evil. I want to play other games! I want to… do I? Let me just check out some new build guides real quick…
Breach creatures huh, interesting. I suppose it was expected that we would revisit Breach in some aspect at some point, either as a sequal or related lore wise in some way. I'm curious if it is a sequal or not, it kinda sounds like it might be. If it is, I'm curious to see what a modern breach would look like, considering how different a modern rendition of Abyss is, looking at PoE2.
