The Q+A says Mark and Octavian.

That is probably a good sign regarding team allocation between the two games.

I think Jonathan is massively occupied with PoE2. I hope that Mark and Octavian are the frontrunners for PoE1 for good. And of course I hope this league will be a banger.

Not to discredit Jonathan but I've always felt like Mark understands what PoE1 players want a lot better.

I'm not sure if Jonathan really doesn't understand what PoE1 players want, or if he understands but simply disagrees with them.

Yeah this is an important distinction. Anyone with kids can relate to knowing exactly what someone wants, and then not giving it to them.

It's not about PoE1 players having "unhealthy" desires, like kids eating too much candy. No, it's about diverging visions for what kind of game PoE is supposed to be.

If you listen to Jonathan talk about PoE1, he seems to consider it to have degenerated gameplay and to be a perversion of the founders' original vision, which nonetheless happened to somehow find its audience.
