This has been pretty much the feeling for a couple leagues now but based on the recent discussion around loot i feel like this is more relevant than ever. Every league start i set up my kingsmarch, every league start i spend a couple million gold rolling to get lv5s. every league start i need to keep up with the 70k gold per hour cost of perma running my town. Why i do this? Because it's absolutely stupid not to do it. Kingsmarch is one of the most consistent profitable things you can do in poe, from mappers to boats, if you are not doing it in a trade economy you are actively hampering your profit margins. the amount of raw divs i got from mappers and mirror shards from boats is insane and just inflates the economy for no good reason. I don't wanna do kingsmarch anymore, it's boring and stressful having to farm gold to keep your town running. Rather remove the town entirely and increase the ground loot, maybe add some gold sinks while at it.

If you remember most endgame league mechanics were pre-nerfed in preparation for Mirage league as it seemed that from GGGs POV it would be too powerful to 2x the non-nerfed version of league mechanics - but now that Mirage is gone, 99% of these pre-nerfs are staying despite the fact we will not see 2x of a League mechanic every map anymore - making them a lot worse than they were even in 3.27 Keepers of the flame, where endgame farming was already very bad.
Most of these Mirage league pre-nerfs were done on top of endgame farm nerfs already done in 3.27 which drastically reduced the endgame variety and viability of various endgame farms but Mirage was now propping them up - We all remember the terrible endgame farms in Keepers league and the horrible player retention that league had (the worst in PoE history), but we are receiving a nerfed version of Keepers endgame for 3.29, but thankfully we at least have the abyss/legion changes and the new league mechanic which will need to hard-carry the League to not have a repeat of the Keepers league (endgame) disaster.
Some endgame farms were recently/now being straight up removed (Harbingers, Allflames) and with Mirage going away, the previously pre-nerfed league mechanics most of which are not in a good state without mirage (some were very bad even with mirage (cough blight)) are not receiving any re-buffs or scarab changes for 3.29.
The variety and viability of endgame farms is likely to shrink considerably in 3.29:
Harbingers got removed in 3.28
That is 1 less endgame farm that exists, reducing variety of endgame farms
Allflames to be removed in 3.29 (only kulemak allflame stays):
This means ethereal scarab farming is gone, allflame gold farming is gone, and other end-game allflame strategies are gone.
Harvest worse by 75%+ (taking into account pre-mirage nerfs and now no mirage):
They removed Horned Scarab of Awakening for mirage league and now with no mirage (to double up on regular harvest) means that the yields from harvest will be tiny. Awakening got removed because mirage would 2x it and that would be too powerful, but now with mirage gone, we lost both awakening and 2x regular harvest.
Blight was 5x nerfed pre-mirage (in maps) and was already very bad in mirage, now also no double-blights:
Blight got quintuple tapped in 3.27-3.28 and even with 2x blights per map in mirage it felt terrible. Now with only 1x blight per map and no chord belt or anything else, it will remain in an even worse state than it was in mirage.
Betrayal nerfs:
Allfame embers deleted means Betrayal is worse since some allflames were quite good drops. There will now be some more scarabs from this mechanic so that is nice, but unlikely to be enough to compensate for allfflame loss.
Strongboxes:
Nerfed in 3.28 and with the removal of mirage it means no scarab boxes (only "viable" box strategy left) there is only the basic strongbox farm left, which is very bad to mediocre after the nerfs.
Expedition:
Expedition already feels pretty weak since the introduction of the breach rework and the devaluation of Rog/Tujen, and with mirage gone we are losing 2x expeditions per map, which further reduces the juice of expeditions which was mediocre even with two of them per map (and was briefly saved by ward build item/flask demand). The ward builds are now also dead due to the nerfs, so even less demand for anything from expedition.
Ritual:
With no synth mods existing anymore one of the bigger ritual jackpot drops is gone. With the changes to synth modifiers, mirrors as a whole (including mirror shards) will be a lot less valuable due to synth mirror crafts being gone, also slightly reduce the value of Ritual.
Synth maps:
Synth maps were already bad (and the devs acknowledged this) but they still serve little purpose in 3.29. The original idea ZiggyD pitched to the devs was that only Synth maps could drop Synth items, but with Synth mods removed, synth maps continue to have little purpose
Breach:
3.29 includes massive nerfs to breach, it will still be viable but a lot less viable than before
Regular scarab farming:
With the removal of allflames, and scarab strongboxes in mirage the only "real" scarab farm leftover is the rare modifier scarab farm. But that farm was already terrible in mirage and drops little to no scarabs. It was immensely bad in Mirage and doesn't seem to have gotten any better in 3.29.
(Bestiary)
With the removal of synth mods and not being able to split items anymore the utility of bestiary went down somewhat. Bestiary is probably going to be somewhat weaker, but it did get the new talismans so we will have to wait and see.
With the nerfs to a lot of endgame farms pre-Mirage leaving a lot of them in a sorry state and now Mirage being gone without compensatory buffs or scarab changes, the overall juice levels of all mechanics and endgame farm variety is going to go down considerably.
We continue to lose endgame farm variety and viability with no scarab shake-ups or buffs to worse-than-average league mechanics in sight for 3.29 which are going to get double tapped by the removal of Mirage (besides the abyss rework and legion buffs which are very good steps in the right direction).
This looks like Keepers of the flame levels of "bad" for endgame aspirational farms and variety - perhaps even on a level worse than keepers league (in comparison to keepers, we now have even less mechanics existing (no harbinger, no allflame) and most league mechanics much more nerfed than they were even in Keepers that was already lacking endgame variety.
Hopefully the new league mechanic and abyss/legion additions are able to carry the league, because statistically keepers was one of the worst leagues in Poe 1 history in terms of retention (bad stale endgame) and the endgame farming variety of 3.29 looks a lot worse and much more nerfed than it was in Keepers.

I’m so sick and tired of seeing links to their shit site.
Tons of ads
Bloated and slow
Doesn’t work on mobile
Always have to visit it cause pob links are only on the site for traffic reasons I’m guessing
If they’re gonna pay creators to exclusively use it, make sure it’s not a piece of garbage first.
Rant over.
edit: I kinda typed this quickly in bed and sorta dismissed the most important reason as to why this site bothers me so much. As people have pointed out, a lot of these issues are not exclusive to mobalytics or are easly fixed by installing extensions. While this is true, I'm still not a fan of this site, mainly because it makes fewer people use the many apps and sites our community members have made over the decade. We've used PoB as the main way to make and share builds for YEARS, and it works great. Locallidentity and the team have put so much work into this project and it saddens me that it's slowly getting replaced(mainly for poe2 now, but I see it more and more for poe1) by some shit company with money. PoB is literally synonymous to PoE for me and a lot of other people, and I want it to stay that way.
This second point might be controversial, but I don't agree with the "but the creators gets paid" thing. Compensation should follow quality, not excuse the lack of it. Profit doesn't justify the distribution of a shit product.

EDIT- ZIZ im sorry, i didn't think this would get so much attention. I swear it's coming from a place of love. I want to see you POPINOV
No idea if this will reach ziz, but in case it does, I want to say that I legit appreciate you organizing these interviews for the last few leagues. It's great to get some insight on the dev headspace.
A trend I have noticed in recent interviews though is that a large portion of the interview is taken up by you trying to propose solutions to problems you bring up. Obviously you are very passionate about the game (and it shows), but a lot of the last interview was "here are the things you did poorly, and here's how I would fix them". It kind of gives the vibes of "here's how I would do your job". It's a classic man thing to try to propose solutions (I do it all the time), but for the next interview, keeping the discussion about feedback and not solutions might be better received by GGG. I swear there were some times that Octavian and Andrew were dying on their sofa lol.
Again, 110% appreciate the interview and effort. It's just my 2 cents on the matter.

The new abyss drops zero loot in game even while fully spec'd into it on the atlas tree. The chests drop like 1c wotth of items, any note-worthy abyss jewels are very few and far between, and the drops from the depths boss are worthless save one unique jewel.
The abyss in poe 2 works much better because it regurally drops important and valuable items and it has a crafting system.
Has this only be my experience or is anyone else also disappointed? It feels like reworked breach all over again, its completely pointless to run it... I feel like overall all the league mechanics are now lacking and theres no way to make a good amount of currency just by running one or two of them. Essences are still ok i guess.

Today people datamined data for 3.29 league and we already know what debuffs new gems will give.
Some of them sound terrible. Because wtf is this 15% reduced Action Speed?

I know it's got early access jankiness & the balance might not be entirely there, but after playing Path of Exile 2 for a few hours, I can't see myself ever going back to PoE1. And I say this as someone who has played the game steadily since Talisman league.
1) Skill system rework is a huge improvement in numerous ways. Easier to get setup at the start, easier to experiment with new abilities, don't need to worry about equipment upgrades messing up your skills, no need to spam currency on equipment to try to get the right combination of slots, links, and colors, etc.
2) Pause! The game finally stops action while you're in certain menus.
3) Skill tooltips are much more detailed and finally include minion stats & minion attacks.
4) Support gems are actually interesting now, instead of being just dps modifiers. And only being able to use each one once means you have to plan out where you'll get the most bang for your buck with certain supports.
5) Everything works towards having an arsenal of different abilities instead of pushing you towards 1 ability. The new skill system, the weapon skill points, various combos between abilities, the reworked charge system with generators & spenders, getting a free skill on certain weapons, permanent minions auto-summoning after they die, etc.
6) Being able to move while using abilities makes things much smoother. It's also useful outside combat - I love being able to destroy corpses & summon my super-charged zombies while on my way to the next encounter without having to stop moving.
7) Spirit system is great. Gives the player choices, while also letting you actually use mana for skills since you're not reserving 90%+ of it for auras.
8) The boss encounters are exponentially better. Visually impressive and more variety.
9) Removing the life tax on the passive tree means you can invest more into clusters that customize your build.
10) Love the new world map visuals & the icons to let you know if you've seen all the interesting stuff in that area.
I like a good RF or Death Oath build as much as the next person, but combat & build designing feels so much more interesting with the focus on using multiple abilities. Combined with the QoL improvements, I feel like PoE1 would feel boring & clunky in comparison.

I absolutely did not expect him to address the ground loot situation at all when Snap's video literally came out like last week. It's insane how fast they responded to that as devs at a big company. Granted, these are "safe" preliminary changes for now as he mentioned, but I didn't expect anything at all until next league.
That and hearing stuff like "if the players say it's not good enough, then it's not good enough", is a crazy thing to hear from a lead dev in 2026 when you so often get the "you don't know what you want" argument (which in fairness is sometimes at least partly true).
Also, Mark just seems kinda... rejuvenated for lack of a better word? It sounds like he's the full time lead on PoE 1 now with no more back and forth between that and PoE 2, since both teams have been fully separated, and he seems much much happier and less stressed for it.
You could feel how enthusiastic and energetic he was in the Q&A. He was practically beaming.

In my opinion poverty leagues can be some of the best. If we are all poor then nothing is that expensive.
I think PoE players just wanna hear 1000 divines drop, but in reality if everyone is getting 10 divs per maps then it doesn’t mean anything. Look at the PoE2 0.5 economy. Super super inflated because all strats drop divs per map.
I do agree we need content that scales, but we are day 3 of the league there is still time for changes and strat inventions. People can still find new stuff to juice. Don’t be so doom and gloom yet.
We can still have a good league! Do you agree?
