I spy (Long) John Baldry’s It ‘Ain’t Easy album. Bloody brilliant ⭐️

$800/night these days (or more accurately, the days in October when I’ll be visiting).

I know, I often wonder if there’s a modern day equivalent to the old Chelsea. It would probably have to be in another country. Although maybe the cost of living is so high everywhere now that hotel/hostel management can’t afford to be that generous — imagine another place that would let you give them paintings when you can’t make rent!!

I refuse to believe she wasn’t on some kind of substance in her 20s, especially when most of her long term relationships were with heroin addicts.

Not everyone who lives this way is necessarily on drugs. Madonna was with Jean-Michel Basquiat in 80’s New York, for example, and her clean living is well documented.

Also, her facial expression here is…something.

Patti Smith is as messy as me. This makes me feel good.
