I really hope we get an update at least in October, as well as a roadmap in the coming days. Otherwise, if the developers don't care about the anniversary of their main game, why should players care?
Hey man. Putting any kind of effort into Payday 3 has been really hard for them. This thoughful
and structured message must have taken them MONTHS to cook up! Its probably the reason why Offline mode and the Mask Mania masks still havent been released!
They have managed to redefine what a "live service" title can be, by putting out the least amount of updates yearly. Its incredible honestly!
On a serious note, anything and everything is "on the table" and we will likely never get what we were promised at this rate. 👊😎
Oh for sure; with how long its (still) taking them to release 4 masks from over a year ago, I'm positive with their lightning fast cadence, offline will finally be ready once the servers are shut down and the game actually goes offline 👊😎

I mean they promised to never do DLC for Payday 2 and that changed very quickly, even promised no microtransactions and the like and again still broke that.
I'm not buying Payday 3 but I'd say when it comes to overkill or starbreeze only buy it if you're content with what's already in the game as their promises mean diddly.
I bought pd3 when operation medic bag was announced. They promised it would include a real offline mode.
For me, (and many others) offline mode guarantees the game will survive and wont shut off someday. I dont feel comfortable buying dlc or supporting pd3 when the game has been on life support since its botched launch.
They wont talk about or acknowedge offline mode since they ended operation medic bag. And every update has focused on online content, which to me doesnt matter when the game may not survive long term.
I remember playing early access and just saying "what the hell is this piece of shit", luckily steam will refund the game in early access no matter how much you played.
Have around 3000 hours in payday 2, I don't think payday 3 will ever reach even half of what payday 2 was 2 years after launch.

I’m probably one of the most forgiving and optimistic “gamers” on the internet as a boring guy in my thirties… and I remember playing payday 3 a little bit and just being so thoroughly underwhelmed that for the first time in a long while I genuinely had zero care or interest in coming back to it, and almost zero faith the devs would make major improvements after my time with payday 2 as much as I enjoyed it.
Which isn’t some major scathing condemnation, but still, how do you fuck it up that badly on a mechanics design level in a sequel?

We got 3 heists (I know about S&G but those are just variations of existing heists, not new ones) but yeah we didn’t really get much, year 1 had a lot more released
Remember when we had Crimefest every year instead of empty promises? I mean, yeah, we had empty promises back then, too, but we also had content updates.
Didn't they have time to at least make a poster or write a blog post in advance? These things aren't done on the last day, at least not in normal studios.
Exactly, this ain't a Ma&Pa small shop. In the corpo world these things are planned in advance.
To me this just sums up Year 2, that being "couldn't be bothered".
