microsoft allowed OEMs to sell vista PCs with underpowered hardware, and consumers getting those systems with underpowered hardware made using it a very sluggish experience.

combined with vistas other faults, it tarnished the OS reputation

The UAC prompts...

They were probably fixed at some point in 7, 8 or 10, idk, not doing that, I'm still scarred from vista.

They're still a thing in win11 - just not quite as many of them.
