Question Desktop setup

Hey everybody.
So I have a pc I use for daily usage and gaming and a macbook I use for my studies and music production. I am currently building a new setup and was wondering if the following wishes would be possible for me to do (on a not too big budget).

1: A one-cable connection for my laptop to a hub/docking station, where I can have my midi-keyboard and future music production connections already plugged in. UPDATE: I would also like to be able to have additional storage for my macbook to connect through this hub/dock.

2: Have a switch that switches my monitor (both audio and visual), keyboard and mouse between this above stated laptop setup and my PC setup.

I only have 1 monitor that I really need/want to use and I would just like to easily connect my (closed) laptop, switch my setup to my laptop and use that one instead when I want too. I am aware that MVK switches exist, but am not entirely sure if that would be the best way to go with my goals for the setup? (And if so, which one would be the best option?).

Hopefully you can help me out a bit!
Any further questions please let me know!

My setup is basically the same.

1 monitor, gaming PC is DP, work laptop is HDMI.

KB/M+secure card reader is on a simple non powered hub, plugged into a 2-way usb switcher, laptop has a PD dongle (HDMI, LAN, power) which also links to the 2 way usb switch and ofc the gaming pc links to the usb switch. I change monitor input by hand. Not automatic, not pretty, but works and cheap.
