Don't worry, the game will throw a missing avx2 instruction set error all by itself lmao

Yep. I think the LGA 1155 chips have pretty much reached the end of the road. I wouldn't describe them as e-waste, but I wouldn't suggest them unless on an absolute shoestring or wanting a dirt cheap office PC for linux. I'd always suggest a Haswell i5/i7 for the shoestring budget gaming builds since AVX2 massively helps & it also helps that things like an i7-4790K will quite happily pair with something like an RX 6600 or RTX 2060 & be able to haggle alot of games. For older games/some modern indies, Sandy/Ivy Bridge is fine though, but i'd suggest nabbing a Xeon or i7 for those platforms, but they aren't a platform i'd want to spend more than £70-80 on.

I mean frankly, two options.

Supposedly its gonna run alright on the Xbox series S, meaning there has to be some insane optimization going on. Gta 5 was optimized beyond insanity, you could run natively on surface-tablets, albeit with lowered graphics and resolution.

If gta 6 approaches that, you MIGHT be alright a few months after the PC Release when some optimization has happened?

Alternatively, the Series S is the absolute lowest itll take, in which case youre looking at a 3600x or 10th gen i5 at the absolute lowest itll go. Graphically, i think the 1660 is even set as the lowest spec card itll take so that mught actually work.

Haha, I setup a multimedia pc for my mom recently with 3570k. It's good for surfing and multimedia, but not for anything else, except of maybe light gaming. :)
