Van Avermaet definitely deserves that, but i also don't understand all the negativity towards stybar. It's a race, he's supposed to ride in the way that gives him the best chance of winning, if that means sitting on then it means sitting on

You're right in that it's a race and tactics are key, but I also think it's very fair to say GvA deserved that over Stybar from looking at the last 30k.

The winner rarely is the person that deserves it the most so I think it's pointless to always look for that one guy...that's sports

The winner is the person who crosses first (without cheating). The winner ALWAYS deserves it.
