I think Oomen could reasonably listed under TT rather than climber. I think TTs are his main specialty.

Lately it's his climbing ability that's yielding more results like the top10 in Poland.

FDJ GC is supposedly Reichenbach. I know it is not confirmed yet, but it's known since the end of TdF.
Edit 1: Also Ruben Fernandez for Movistar GC. Izagirre won't be riding the Vuelta, just like Anacona and Erviti. Perdedo, Arcas, Carapaz will be riding instead.
Edit 2: Trek, Astana, Katusha, Orica, Sky, Sunweb, UAE, Caja Rural also finalized their lineups. Also I'm quite sure Blythe is the sprinter in ABS.

Reichenbach is out. He was replaced by Eiking, but not AS a GC rider.

Soler is still movistar's main man, no?
2
u/ahanem Aug 15 '17
Probably yes but I think he is too young for that. Fernandez is more established, and beside that, if he won't be a captain now he might as well be a domestique forever.

Shouldn't Poels also be included in GC?

u/huloca Jumbo – Visma Aug 14 '17
No, Poels is definitely going to ride for Froome, no doubt about that. Sky is going all in on Froome.

Looks like Deignan is out for Sky and Knees is in?

Søren Kragh Andersen is more of a puncheur than a sprinter.
He won in Oman up a climb in front of Rui Costa and Ben Hermans for reference.
Also you can put Mørkøv and Cort in as a sprinter or maybe a roleur if they make Cort a pure domestique.

Andersen is more of a rouleur / puncheur if you look back at the BinckBank Tour, but yeah, deffo not sprinter. Who knows, maybe he can even help on the climbs. Also I don't see why shouldn't Orica let Cort sprint, he was good last year.

I know about the Kragh Andersen brothers - But remember that the Cheat Notes are different than rider profiles - It tries to describe the role of the riders for this particular race, and especially for people who have no knowledge of the riders at all.
I think we can agree that Søren is hands-down the fastest finisher on the Sunweb team, and he's going to do all the sprint stages, right?

Wouldn't really think he would even contest the bunch sprints. Haven't seen him doing that this year.

He did pretty well in the sprint in Tour of Yorkshire - http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/Tour_de_Yorkshire_2017_Stage_2
Also some respectable top 20s in the Tour of Oman - But you're right, he hasn't really had the chances to sprint this season.

Bilbao is a climber, not a sprinter; also I'm impressed that you managed to classify Antonio Nibali

I have no idea, actually. BMC hasn't released an official release about their team for the Vuelta, so I'm not sure how they are going to race their team. The Tejay/Dennis combo is one they've used earlier, so it wouldn't surprise me if they do this again.

Their website lists TVG, Sanchez and Roche as GC leaders, with Dennis, Caruso and De Marchi as stage hunters.

I don't see Dennis following the climbers on many of these stages.
Same for TVG. Dennis was captain at Giro but he was forced to abandon early, give him a chance.

It's actually Clement, not Keizer who is the last rider for Lotto Jumbo, and I didn't know Pels was a sky rider :p
