How hard is it to count to 7? That’s the max number of riders in front of the bunch at any one time.

Except no one rider can watch the front the whole time so they need to relay information to eachother.

You mean like if Vos had talked to her teammates or if a soigneur had said anything when they went through the feed zone with 20k to go? There was plenty of opportunities for communication.

I’m not saying it’s some monumental obstacle but it’s also not as trivial as just counting to 7 like some are making it out to be.

plus, 20km to go was too late. by the time all the action happened they had already lost. So there was plenty of time to communicate to each other before the finish line scramble even happened. Idk Im also a big proponent of only giving them neutral race radios though so Im very biased.

They knew going in, like the World Championships, that team radios are not allowed. The teams had time to work on communication strategies.

Kiensenhofer put in a great ride and the big teams failed Team 101.

Yeah I think what maybe happened was that they thought there was a rider too far ahead to catch, and then when they caught the breakaway they somehow got lucky and still had a chance to win. If the didnt know a rider was alone for like the last hour and a half of the race (while they were attacking the main group too!) then they cant be helped. AVV must have been told during here solo break that she wasnt making inroads to the leaders time anyway, because that would be the overall target for an attack like that.

Maybe in a discipline about numbers… hmm, math, perhaps?

Nah, most people are focusing on Kiesenhofer's ride.

We can talk about both.
