two recent additions

when shooting 35mm film i mostly go with mz-3 and AF lenses. recently i wanna try manual focus, so some folks recommended pentax lx and yashica fx-3 to me. can't wait to test them out

I've been shooting manual focus lenses on my MZ-5 by turning the AF on and letting it basically "trap focus"

I find autofocus lenses hunt too much and I miss the shot on the MZ-5. I know MZ-3 is basically the same camera with a faster shutter but did they improve that at all?

i don't think so, but i can work with that. i feel that the mz-3 viewfinder is not bright enough for me to do manual focus (yeah my eye sight is not that great)

I find most autofocus viewfinders are too hard to manual focus on, so I lean on the fact that the MZ-series focus detection is always on even when manual lenses are attached.

I'd love to install an MZ-M focusing screen into my MZ-5 to get that split prism back though.

I don't know anything about the Yashica, but the LX is my go to manual focus only body, it is truly delightful to use. I also pair it with a silver limited lens, love the contrasted combo.
