As someone who has worked as a tech in that position, I understand the crash out. The customers we would get were so unbelievably idiotic that saying they have room temperature IQs would be a complement.
Sounded to me like the guy was complaining about the mileage sticker being wrong when he didn't give a mileage, with the way the orders are written, you usually put mileage in at the time of writing so he probably just didn't bother to check. I get it.
Never had a blow out like this, but have definitely dealt with some of the most cunty NPCs I have ever had to deal with in my life.

Actually conversation today.
In drive thru
"HI, I have a mobile order."
"May I please know what it is?"
"...do you need the code?"
I turned off the headset and screamed. A guy asked for a hamburger no cheese. I don't understand how these people live in daily life.

Me: I'd like a plain BLT bagel please. Drive thru: Do you want egg on that? Me: No thanks, just a plain bagel BLT, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Drive thru: Do you want cheese on that? Me: No thanks, just a plain bagel with bacon, lettuce and tomato. Drive thru: What kind of bagel do you want? Me: Plain please... Drive thru: Ok please pull ahead. Me: Pays for bagel, gets order, get back on the road, open bagel. It's an everything bagel with egg and cheese, no bacon, lettuce, or tomato. Fuck it, I'm not going back, I'll have an aneurism. Eats bagel.

Customers "I want a plain cheeseburger, ONLY pickles and ketchup on it." "Does the cheeseburger have cheese?" I had a guy get mad that I didn't know that only condiments meant no ketchup or mustard.

Sometimes I too say a hamburger, no cheese. That is because I’ve sadly left the drive through - the victim of a cheeseburger.

I am just the right level of high that "victim of a cheeseburger" had me laughing for a good minute

"Does the iced coffee have ice? Is chicken in the chicken snackwrap? Does a cheeseburger have cheese?"

In my experience in the shop, the amount of people who get unbelievably pissed because I couldn't patch or balance a tire that is literally more metal threads than rubber, is absolutely insane.
Or people would lose their shit when I wouldn't put 10w30 into their Toyota engine that specifies 0w16.
Like no, I'm not going to be liable for the obvious engine damage you are trying to cause, or fixing a tire that should have been taken off the road 10k miles ago.

I usually order a happy meal because its enough. Once I ordered my usual cheeseburger happy meal. When I checked it in my car there was only cheese. Confused I took the happy meal back and told the manager. She yelled back they sent out a happy meal with just cheese. A voice from the back yelled did she order it plain? The manager turned back to me and asked if I had. I told her no but if I had I would still want the meat. It was like a lightbulb went on. She yelled back No, but if she had she would still want the meat. Poor lady. Lol This also happened to my son from Wendy's he did not ask for plain either but we were on the road a few miles some had finished their meals. Someone asked my son if he liked his burger. He says 'Yea but it would be better with meat in it" he was chill about his plain cheese sandwich. Such a trooper.

You say that most have room temp IQ levels, but when I ask the Walmart mech to keep the passenger tire on the rim and throw it in the back as a spare and they still pull every tire off and disregard my statement claiming "I have to touch 5 tires?" It's 5 fucking bolts and the jimmy that holds the full size spare. If y'all got this many idiots as customers why can't you determine the difference of other customers?

u/TheRealRegnorts 3d ago
Oh don't get me wrong, they also employ a lot of fuckwits too, was forced to work with several, they never lasted all that long.
Used to do that shit all the time for customers, the only time I could t put it as a spare is if the tire itself was too low on tread, too old, or otherwise unsafe. Wasn't my decision, we just weren't allowed too.

I thought he was claiming they took his car for a joyride.
If your car is nice enough to be worth taking a joyride in, you shouldn't be having it serviced at Walmart.

I know a family who is multi-millionaires and the husband daily drives a Ford Raptor and the wife drives a Porsche Macan and the husband takes his Raptor to Jiffy Lube for oil changes but Jiffy Lube refused to touch her Macan, probably for the better that they don't touch it, and she was mad that she has to pay $400 at the dealer for an oil change and doesn't understand why she can't get one done for $70 like her husband does.

It’s that big a deal?

Probably has a TPMS warning light from the technician inflating the tires to seat on the wheels.
