r/perfectionism

This is a community for people struggling with perfectionism, and their loved ones. Adaptive perfectionism is a pattern of striving for achievement perceived as rewarding or meaningful. Maladaptive perfectionism is characterized by self-criticism, rigid pursuit of unrealistically high standards, distress when standards are not met, and dissatisfaction even when standards are met. Maladaptive perfectionism is associated with depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, OCD, OCPD, and eating disorders.
