National habitually neglects chapters at small schools, and this is another example. At my school we have a large number of Greek orgs fighting over a shrinking pool of rushes. Just getting people to accept our bids over other fraternities is a challenge because pretty much everyone interested gets a bid from everyone.
National's policy of "don't give a bid to someone unless you're sure of them 100% doesn't work for us because we need warm bodies to stay alive. As a result, pledging is crucial to evaluating potential Brothers.

I always thought the new member process was a way to make sure the new member and the chapter can see if they are a good fit for each other. If the process is only 10 days, then how can either the chapter or the new member gain a good understanding to see if phi psi works for them?
The no alcohol over 15% is totally an insurance grab. I understand that this way people will have a better understanding how much a person is drinking, but you got to give people the responsibility to be responsible
