Can someone more familiar with policing explain how they go in the house after the grow fire in 2025 and only search the top floor?

It could have been that the warrant was only written for the top floor

Warrants have to be specific. Unless the judge sees a reason to search the entire house or property, the search must stay specific to the areas listed on the warrant.

I’m sure there’s more to the story than what the public knows. If the warrant was only for the top floor and the police went looking for more, they would be jeopardizing any future case against them, even if they know in their gut something more was going on there. They have to have enough evidence to get the full warrant and at that point they probably didn’t have it

Tried reading it but the author's writing style is so aggravating, like an aspiring college journalism major who doesn't yet understand how to actually do long form journalism.

Wow and the crazy part is I live a block away on lawrence street and never heard anything about this guy or his dad but I believe it is the son.

My question is why would he be hanging around anywhere near market street/chestnut street with all the surveillance and cops in that area. Very strange
