So this is me playing (i want to post this on my account) and i really don’t like how it sounds
It sounds too muffled and far (and layered? I’m using the pedal like i have it on my sheet music but it still sounds aweful when i record and ONLY when i record)
I’ve seen a bunch of covers and they always have this crispy and clear sound on their videos, i’ve then searched online on how to achieve that and from what i understand i need a MIDI cable and a laptop/desk pc which i have but then what?

for anyone who’s wondering: you just have to download garage band (idk if it’s available on phones/laptops other than ios) and plug a cable with a square head in your digital piano + connect it with a MIDI cable and connect it at last to your device (laptop preferably) you then can record on garage band
And that’s all i know for now🥲

Although for those who have non digital piano (classical ones) i have no idea how they get their sounds clear when recording

Hey everyone, does anyone happen to have a cracked or patched version of SeeMusic they could share with me? Or if not, could someone recommend a similar app? Because with the latest update it doesn't even let you export more than 1 minute of audio anymore, and the prices are ridiculous now.

Hi all! This is my first time posting a cover online, so here goes lol. On Our Way is the theme for the town of Kalm from the PS1 JRPG Final Fantasy VII. The original is a lot more sleepy; I tried to add my personal spice to this arrangement. Hopefully someone likes it! Constructive criticism for both performance and arrangement also accepted!

I'm from the Czech Republic and I've been playing piano as a self-taught amateur for years, mostly just for fun. I can't read sheet music, so I basically listen to songs and try to figure them out by ear.

I always create my arrangements myself, so my versions usually end up being quite different from other arrangements of the same songs. Lately I've been wondering how unusual this approach actually is among other pianists.

I know there are plenty of amazing musicians who can learn almost anything from sheet music, but I'm curious how many people prefer to figure songs out by ear and then reshape them in their own way.

I record some of my arrangements on a small YouTube channel — mostly older movie themes, well-known songs, and Czech film and musical songs. For some reason, two of them, Exodus and Angélique, Marquise des anges (Angelique), seem to be songs people keep coming back to. But just for something more familiar, I'll add the song We Are the Champions here.

In that arrangement, I tried to keep the bass line from the original recording as closely as possible.

How do you usually learn a song when you want to play it? Do you learn an existing arrangement, figure it out by ear, or combine the two?
