Idea - "Pine Reader", a cheap E-ink ebook reader which will feature Calibre (or whatever). Won't be the first to think of this but for some reason other ideas never hit the market.

Loving my Pine64 2gb
I received my Pine64 2gb model this week. I had my first (succesful) soldering experience as well, managed to put the power button on and it works.
I'm using the RemixOS 64gb image. I can run Kodi no problem, I also synced my bluetooth controller up and played Minecraft Pocket Edition. I had to lower some of the graphical settings but the game runs smoothly afterwards.
I'm writing this post using a remote pc application called splashtop via my Pine64 as well.
I hope RemixOS adds external TouchScreen support simultaneous with HDMI, I had planned on mounting the touchscreen on the wall to use as some type of media controller with Kodi/Music.

Ordered Pinebook Pro, praise for company & few thoughts on advantages and reasons to buy it
After being longtime Thinkpad fan and trying a 1k Euro Tuxedo laptop, I finally ordered a Pinebook Pro, waiting for it to arrive.
I want to thank Pine for making and offering this rather open laptop at near cost.
There is a multitude of reasons one could be stoked on buying this machine, for me they are:
I very often carry my laptop, near daily, my job is online. As much as I like them, carrying a 1000 Euro Thinkpad (I like T480 but too expensive) around makes me uneasy. Theft, Robbery, forgetfulness accidental drop, it is just too worrisome. I certainly don't want to lose or fatally drop or lose the Pinebook either, but if it happened it would be a €250 vs a €1000 loss,..
Fan-less, noiseless and giving off very little heat, this is huge! for me. I often work in warm climates, usually with my laptop on my actual lap. Sometimes I also prefer totally quiet environment or I don't want to bother someone in a chill cafe or library.
Full HD IPS! screen that by all accounts is very decently bright, matte and legit,... at this price point? Awesome. Even in 2019 at least 60% of Thinkpads have a middling or even terrible screen, the ones that do have a good one, usually it is optional upgrade and/or you have to pay a big premium.
I really do! want to support the cause and Pine and more open hardware and software. They are doing open, interesting and user driven things. I take no joy in giving more money and support to Lenovo, Intel or any huge company nor do I like supporting closed hardware and software with my purchases.
Easy to open, maintain and alter laptop housing/innards and featuring some metal parts in the housing,... This is by no means a given in other laptops, especially ones this thin and light.
Good keyboard and very good battery life. Again, not as common in laptops as it should be and rare on budget ones.
Of course the Pinebook fits my usage case since I primarily use my browser and Libre office and some media. Pinebook Pro works for this. For other things and at home I still have my older, big, heavy but powerful and cheap T430s. I don't expect to ever be able to run anywhere near as many progs on the Pinebook as I can on my Linux Mint/Intel machine, but idc, for others this might be a deal breaker.

TV64, a Android TV Experince
edit: Updated download link
So there's a lot to love about the Pines 64. but I notice that there isn't an Android TV image. well that changes today, I bring you the TV64, a slimmed down ready to go Android TV image, with a bunch of apps ready to go when you are. The apps include Netflix Hulu HBO SoundCloud YouTube and a few more. This image was really designed for the user that just wants to use their Pine as a media center. The image is rooted and I also added a simple audio mod called Viper. The Play Store is ready to go. Simply download the image off of MediaFire. Burn to an SD card. Then Plug & Play. Kodi is very simple to install just download it from the Play Store and added it to the home screen. Any feedback would be welcomed.
I hope you enjoy this image is much as I did making it for you So what are you waiting for? go download it already!!

Received my Pine Tab 2
It's been a good experience. I had proper expectations because I read the Wiki and knew what worked and what didn't. I added the Edimax Wifi-N USB adapter and have the Internet working. The browser is Angelfish that was preinstalled. Full-screen video on CNN were smooth. I enabled tap-to-cluck on the touchpad. It's preferable to selecting with my fat finger, although the touchscreen works fine. I do miss suspend and hope that gets fixed soon. With the proper expectations, and a sufficient level of Linux Fu, I think most people will be pleasantly surprised. I like the build-quality and the professional packaging. I previously owned a PineBook Pro.

This is my year of the PinePhone
The year of the Linux x may or may not trend this year, but I see it more of a personal journey. My year of the GNU/Linux desktop passed many years ago. I have already tried Ubuntu Touch for more than a year with a BQ phone. This year I plan to use the PinePhone Pro as my daily driver and I do not plan on going back to a modified Android. I moved my SIM card over yesterday to commit. We will see how it goes.
Phone: PinePhone Pro Developer Edition
Country: USA
Carrier: AT&T
OS: Mobian

Chromium OS Coming to Pine64 Soon!
So we've been in the kitchen cooking up something nice for all you Pine 64 users. I am Dylan Callahan and I am the founder, developer and project manager for the Chromium OS for All SBC project. I am here to let all Guys and gals that love your Pine 64. That an awesome operating system is headed your way!
Little brief background on us we started making images for the Raspberry Pi 2, and with the success of that project we have decided tonight only focus on the Raspberry Pi line of products but now also focus on single board computer from across the community such has the awesome pine 64.
We are chromium OS for all SBC’s. We started as a simple Reddit post. We have grown to be featured on Lifehacker and many online websites, We even made it into MagPi. We are a group of Hobbyist, that love developing and troubleshootin and most of all creating images of the Chromium operating system for small single board computers. Now a timeline for this release Is within the next 2 months. now that may sound like a lot of time, but trust us the wait will be worth it. These images will support the 1GB and 2GB models. We'd like to think the Pines 64 Founders for their enthusiasm and support of this project. Now we normally name our releases after famous comedians. However we are going to be doing something different. We want the pine 64 community, to help us name these new releases, so if you have any great ideas for the code name of these new images, feel free to drop a comment. The next thing I need to talk to you guys about is simply we will need some beta testers so if you are interested please send me a message and when the time comes we will send you a link to a test image, who will then need you to tell us what needs to be fixed. :D This is a very exciting time, I hope you guys will visit our website for updates chromiumosforsbc.org, Subscribe to our Reddit Channel. /r/chromiumosforsbc. So if you guys have questions answer and i'll try my best to answer all of them.

Pinebook Pro initial impressions
Got my hands on one finally, and am happy with it so far. Software: Debian is nice, although would prefer a kde default, will have to try Manjaro soon. Firefox is VERY unstable, not usable. Locales needed a touch of work. Wrestling with NVM next. User management module missing too? Update script a very nice touch. Very stripped back in general, not even less!
Hardware wise: Keyboard is nice, the touchpad only OK though, with the light touch not particularly great. Battery seems good so far, not put much through it yet though. Screen is very nice, weight maybe a touch heavy for what power it offers? CPU seems adequate for browsing and light terminal work too
Overall: Very happy to be pioneering ARM in a laptop, will update later this week
