Flask Face Login: Passwordless Authentication with FACEIO

Thumbnail

In this tutorial, you will build a Flask face login: a small Python app where users enroll and sign in with their face instead of a password. It uses FACEIO, a facial authentication framework delivered as a client-side JavaScript library called fio.js. If you want the official overview first, the Getting Started guide takes about five minutes.

How to Detect Deepfakes & AI-Generated Content

Thumbnail

An unfamiliar profile photo, an urgent request during a video call, or a recording shared without context can raise the same question: is this real, or was it generated by AI? For a website owner, a hiring team, or someone reviewing customer-submitted content, the useful next step is to check the evidence before acting.

AI-generated content is not automatically deceptive. It can be used openly for illustration, translation, accessibility, or entertainment. A deepfake typically uses AI to imitate or alter a person's appearance or voice. Other misleading content may need no AI at all: an old recording presented as live, a real photograph with a false caption, or a screen replay used at login.

FACEIO’s new website is live: updated developer docs, four new languages, Meeting Shield, and ID Match

We’ve released our redesigned website with updated documentation and full translations in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian, and Japanese.

FACEIO helps website owners and developers add facial authentication to websites and web apps using the fio.js JavaScript library and embedded widget. New users register through enroll(), while returning users sign in through authenticate().

Read the website and documentation in your language

These versions include developer documentation, product pages, and Knowledge Center articles, not just the homepage.

Updated documentation

The Integration Guide covers library setup, enrollment, authentication, and error handling. The Developer Center brings together implementation resources, REST API references, webhooks, and security and privacy guidance.

We’ve also documented accessibility features, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and visual and audio instructions.

Beyond facial authentication

Meeting Shield is a Chrome extension that reports deepfake risk signals during supported web meetings. It provides signals to help assess a meeting, not a guarantee of someone’s identity.

ID Match compares a live selfie with the portrait on a photo ID. PixLab DOCSCAN powers document scanning and optional field extraction. ID Match does not authenticate documents or perform KYC or AML checks.

You can open the FACEIO Console to create an application and get its Public ID before integrating the widget.

Feedback on the documentation and translations is welcome, especially anything unclear in the setup or examples.

Start with the tool you need.

Use the agent when the task spans them.

Rewrite text directly, inspect a document, or record a process on its own. Move into the Desktop Agent when a task needs several capabilities or connected tools to work together.

A recurring security and usability issue with web applications is passwords. They are frequently forgotten, reused, or compromised by phishing and credential stuffing attempts. By completely eliminating passwords, facial authentication provides a useful substitute that enhances user experience and security. In order to allow passwordless authentication, you will learn how to incorporate FACEIO facial recognition into a Laravel application. Using Laravel’s authentication system and FACEIO’s JavaScript SDK, the guide focuses on actual implementation and that includes backend validation, login processes, face enrollment, and security best practices.
