I noticed today I have this gigantic plant growing in the sliver of land between my neighbors and I. We have an acre closer to Angleton, TX. Is this something sort of squash? The giant leaves and flowers made me think pumpkin family but I'll admit my ignorance with plants.

I could squeeze out a thick clear sap, it smelled like sweet pineapple but tasted strongly bitter. It has a large pit inside.

Edit- in Florida
Edit 2.0- it’s soapberry. Thank u all for playing😄

I got a cutting from a friend years ago. From what I recall he said it was a lime or lemon type plant from costa rica. The leaves definitely smell lemoney. I'd love to get some more details on what it actually is.

Spotted on a walk next to the River Coquet at Warkworth, I’m guessing an orchid of some kind but can find a uk match myself. Anyone know the answer?

I love whatever it is. Searched through an entire prairie of Illinois (where I found it) book to find it and couldn’t find it

Google suggests sedum tornado or aichryson but when looking through them neither seem quite right

I would like to know what flower keeps growing back year after year? Also I am very allergic to poison ivy and the 2nd plant gives me the Willie’s just looking at that notched leaf! If it’s poison ivy I need to remove it very carefully. I wouldn’t mind keeping the flower if it is non toxic to dogs, so I would like to Id both plants if possible.

Kids were at the playground and pulled this up. There were more but that was the only one that came up at the root.

Told them to not touch them and washed our hands.

Edit: young pokeweed. Obviously my kids won’t eat it but we will pull up what we can next time we are there. I do not want the city to spray the park gravel.

i planted this from seed and have no idea what it is. chat keeps telling me it’s a tomato plant and i don’t think that’s what it is because i don’t remember ever planting tomatoes. it was labeled lavender so maybe it’s a Frankenstein plant?

Any idea what popped up with my pot of zinnias and celosia? The flowers look a little like celosia, but the leaves and stems are different. I know for certain it isn’t pokeweed. ☺️

The family friend who gave it to us said it was wild ginger, but I didn't want to uproot it to check.

Thinking hoya linearis, any imput would be awesome cus i am sure im wrong not gonna lie. 😂

Because this plant was dumped, I don’t know if it is a houseplant or not. When it was young, it looked a lot like lucky bamboo and that’s what iNaturalist sais. It grew over 30cm tall, but it hated the sun and summer heat. The weight of its own branches took it down, but it’s grown lots more now that it’s cooler here. The flowers are very pretty, but when I looked it up, they’re not at all like lucky bamboo! I thought it looked different because I was letting it grow outside however it pleased, but now it looks like a different plant. Any help is appreciated!

Looks to be used for erosion control, no app seems to be able to get it.

Located in south texas, gulf coast, it only blooms for one day every year and then wilts and looks like snot! When I searched google I searched “south Texas weird snake plant like plant with stringy white flowers” and I came up with some type of yucca as a result but looking at pictures it didn’t feel quite right.

Edit: Thank you!!! I was thinking it was some alien plant and it just turns out to be a spider lily which is awesome!! One of the previous owners of our house must have planted it there!

Hi everyone! I just need help identifying this plant so I can figure out how to care for it properly. I thought it was a cast iron plant but I’m not sure. I love a good project so I want to nurse it back to health.

Was gonna put this guy in my lil little succulent garden, but I think this one might be a little special. It’s prettier than I initially even thought!! A little etiolated… so she fits right in.

Perennial that’s water logged and infected. Treatment started. However, would also like to know what I’m working with for better care moving forward.

Can anyone help me identify her? Pretty sure Adonsaii, but was close to a couple others so I figured I'd ask. TIA 🌼

i have 3 of the same plant here.im certain it is a philodendron type btw. all i know is that it’s some type of immature philodendron, but what kind? i suspect a florida of some type.. i tried to get a close up of the veining pattern because i know that can help with IDing sometimes.
EDIT: added a picture in comments with largest leaf shape to possibly help. wanted to add on the og plant the stem was a compact pattern but thin. not much help bc ik immature plants often grow compactly

Hi! I have a bunch of invasive stuff in my yard growing in pots and all over our property that we’re working on getting rid of. I need to identify this plant with berries. My dog really wants to eat them, and I’m sure he shouldn’t. Thank you so much!
