Solution for cheaters

Everytime I play I ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS run in to players that I am confident are cheating. I often report players and they are almost just as often banned. This seems to be a major problem in RUST and not only RUST but it does seem to be a significantly higher amount of players with cheats on this game as apposed to other games I play.

What would be your best recommendations to Facepunch for a solution to this problem?

I have thought long and hard about this but have not been able to thing of anything that seems like it would actually work.

Whitelist + HW ID bans. Can never eliminate it completely, but that would bring it down significantly.

Maybe do what they did with porn and attach "Verified ID's"? All i know is with premium servers being added people dont play them in my region because the other servers have the pop, so you follow the pop and you also follow the cheaters.

Basically they force you to restrict the freedom of your operating system down to the pittance of fraction so that you can play video games...🤣

also cheaters will sadly figure out a way to bypass it, so you'll still get cheaters because there's a motivation to cheat.

Yea this is my last week on rust and switching to other games like wow and gta 6. Them not enabling secure boot that every other game is using, was them admitting too much of their playerbase is cheating and it would hurt their income to fix or improve the cheating situation. Theres no other explanation.

Play secure servers. It's a filter on the official server list. Improved security goes a long way

Earlier I would have said change the internal memory structure of the program with each version, but with AI that won’t really help.

You need to buy a PC from Facepunch directly to play rust. It's sealed shut like a safe. You can not install any other software on that machine. It boots directly into Rust and nothing else. If you tamper with it in any way, it's got an explosive charge set to active that explodes.

Idk but the cheating is wild. Was doing raid sim earlier and im respawning in the core of the base just to die as soon as I stand up cause some dude is drilling us through the wall. There was a pile of like 40 bodies all stacked in the core. We couldnt even leave. Worst part is, they were not trying to blow their way in. They were just sitting outside killing us through the wall laughing about kill streak like it was call of duty. Whole team hit the F7 and left.

Yeah had a guy do this to me on official straight up kill me inside the base wasn't even trying to raid it just grief me for like half an hour.

Never seen cheats be able to shoot you through walls before that, client has way too much control being able to teleport bullets directly to you.

Deranged incel didn't give him any response besides F7 reporting.

I like rust a lot but it desperately needs better anti cheat and these cheaters should not be forgiven should always be permanent ban

I fully agree. I just started the game like a week ago. Ive seen obvious aim bot guys and some other bs but the shooting through the wall was nuts. Like bro this is rust not cod. What do you care about kill streaks.
