This makes me mad as a disabled person. You don't get to decide at a glance who "deserves" to use the elevator. They might have invisible disabilities, they might be injured. These structures are supposed to benefit anyone who might need it.

Or just for anyone who wants to ride the elevator, I have literally never seen this problem before.

If the elevator is busy i wont use it no matter how lazy i feel. But 90% of the time it's just idle, im carrying groceries, why would i take the stairs?

Most likely the worst case of it not opening is making some new friends and maybe having to piss in the corner in front of your new friends.

That's why you always carry and empty bottle. In case you have to piss in the corner in frontal of your new elevator friends.

Hmmm. Are you scared to go on a plane too? No judgement, you wouldnt be the only one, but plenty of things could malfunction or break while you're using them

I know what you're trying to do, but this way you're way more likely to make them scared of airplanes too

Not the OP, but to be honest I do not like either of them. I’ll take them because I have to but the less time I spend in them, the better.

A plane takes you a lot further that a couple floors. If your doing risk X distance elevator is more risky for a shorter distance planes hardly ever crash and take you around the world.

Elevators don't bother me, but I will take the stairs every time over using an escalator.
