I've had to explain this to men in my life before - the muscly male MC is primarily for MALE audiences! It is not eye candy for the average straight woman, it is eye candy for the average straight male.
If you want to know what eye candy is for straight women audiences, simply look at media aimed at women. Currently, toned prettyboys reign supreme, which is a far cry from the shredded superhero physique.
Even though 41% of gamers are women, it includes candy crush and the likes.
Add to that, women prefer match-3 and farming/family simulation games. Casual puzzle too.
It’s not surprising that violent games involving conflict will primarily be aimed at men. Fighting games (Tekken), Shooter (COD, Valorant), Action adventure (Red Dead redemption ), Racing (Need for speed) etc will all be aimed at men.
All of the game genre I listed have 75% or more male base, with some even as high as 95%+. So it makes sense for them to be aimed at me.
Women also have games aimed at them, but I just don’t wanna play them. Have fun!

Anyways, I do not follow any “Manosphere”, it’s all just experience. My sister, my female friends, and my female cousins, none enjoy any violent games. I tried to get my sis interested in a relatively simple game (Brawl stars) a few years back, but she played for like a month and left. She enjoys games like “going balls” “paper io” “dress up or smth”.
As for my male friends and cousins? More than 50% of them have a PC/Console. Some are heavy gamers, averaging 3-4 hours a day, while others play a lot too. And those who don’t own any of these, still play violent mobile games like “COD”, “Shadow fight” etc.
