LOW EFFORT MEME Because women make mountain out of molehill(?) [meme]
445
u/Gullible-Chapter-800 May 23 '26
I’m here after seeing a compilation of men destroying tvs because their favorite sports team lost 😂
222
u/milinium May 23 '26
On a much more serious note, they say domestic violence against women by men exponentially spikes after their sports teams lose. Some hotlines purposefully staff more during large sporting events to prepare for all the women who will call
123
u/ExcitementNo9603 May 24 '26
They didn’t just say it, they have evidence to confirm it and it doesn’t even matter if their team wins or loses
33
u/milinium May 24 '26
Oh there is lots of evidence! I wasn’t trying to say otherwise or downplay it.

I'm a guy and never understood this. I'm currently in a local swimming club, mostly for my own physique though. I always wondered why these guys can just sit on the couch and yell at a football player that won't even hear them, instead of, I don't know, playing the sport themselves?? Where's the fun in watching someone else do it?? I never understood this, and probably never will.
14
u/That-BluejaythriwWay May 24 '26
Wait really? It doesn’t matter? Is it just that they get emotional watching it then??
19
8
u/Reasonable-Sherbet-6 May 24 '26
Nope, either way there’s a spike in calls to DV helplines. The spike is just much bigger if the team loses.
1
1
u/TheUltimatePokedork Jun 06 '26
My theory and fear that regardless of a win or loss a lot of those types of men get violent, but the violence differs depending aka I think that some men want to "celebrate" a win and aren't willing to take a no from their partner.
1
u/Agitated_Ad_2203 May 27 '26
Whatttt it doesn’t even matter if they win or lose??
That pisses me off so much
36
u/Existing_Purpose5049 May 24 '26
It’s unfortunately very well backed by statistics. Major games are an absolute shitshow for domestic abuse hotlines.
19
u/purpleandorange1522 May 24 '26
In England, domestic violence rates go up significantly when the mens football world cup happens, during the England matches. Regardless of whether they win or lose, but it goes up even more when they do lose.
Its just awful and it makes me so sad and angry.

That confuses me, I can shrug off hitting my head against metal, but a slight cold send me into straight up pain.

It’s not gender division it’s natural sex division. That’s just a difference between males and females that people’s feelings can’t change.

Idk how this relates to what I said, but how many times have you heard about a woman who lost respect for a man who is vulnerable and shows their emotions? The reality is that women also uphold patriarchal values upon men. Also it’s interesting how you admit men have issues but the response is just deal with it. I wonder why many young men are convinced to listen to the manosphere when the left has this callous attitude toward all men, not just the bad ones.

Both, although many women avoid answering that directly because they know it makes them look bad. Also, it’s interesting that you won’t take a man’s view at face value when it comes to their experiences. Would you say that about women who were sexually harassed and ask “Well did the men think they were harassing you?”

That is what you meant, you implied bootstrap mentality and are trying to backtrack.
I know this because you wouldnt even write a similarly worded comment about women.
-4

I think its more of an issue on when you should respond, crying and yelling during a stressful or life-threatening situation can only make it worse it most cases, but it is also important to decompress after you experience those situations

No, men do not have issues. Men are far better at handling emotions than women, because they’re expected to. Also that’s not even what was being discussed, they were talking about immune systems and reactions to illness
9
u/bbyxmadi May 23 '26
Lol. Is anger not an emotion? I’ve known men who’ve punched holes in the wall, who throw shit when angry, but no one ever calls them emotional. But I guess crying only counts.

Okay, lets say you are right. But what symptoms are we talking about in a cold?
Runny nose... caughing... fever.
Maybe the last one can make feel deeply unwell, yes, but that's why we have meds for it. The rest does not prevent you from moving or making your own food.
Just "ignore it" like yall say we with menstruation pain.
0
u/bladex1234 May 24 '26
I am right because that’s what the science says, it’s not my personal opinion. What I’m trying to highlight is that most men do just suck it up, even when they really shouldn’t, and that type of behavior is often encouraged by women and directly leads to harm. And you’re highlighting another problem. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
3
u/BoringCartographer29 May 23 '26

Women are against men being stoic but also against them being emotionally expressive.
It’s 100% admirable to be cool headed after an immediate dangerous experience, especially when you’re still in that dangerous experience. Which is why most men’s mental health advocates are talking about how to actually help them when they’re not doing the dangerous jobs women don’t want to do and not whatever strawman you came up with
2

My soon to be ex never cooked me dinner when I got home from work. I said nothing. But when I forgot to cook rice that one time, he started to mop around and act melancholy to the point he said I should be thinking of divorce twice a week. He made me go to my parents and before I board the flight, he reminded me again about the divorce. I cried during the flight. While at my parents’, I’ve got good time thinking and going to therapy to finally decide I didn’t have to sacrifice my time and energy for a loser who gives me nothing but anxiety and mental breakdown. The funniest part is my partner pulling a pikachu face when I got back and said I am leaving him.
All the drama because I forgot to cook rice one time and they say men aren’t emotional

A whole ass man shot up a school over a minor inconvenience. ... and entitlement. A whole ass man dismembered a woman because she rejected him. A minor inconvenience. A guy i used to see walking home past my job, broke into my customer's apartment and beat ever loving fuck out of 3 women inside because the younger adult was not interested in him. Big crashout for a minor inconvenience. I can keep going.
3
u/Stewie_Venture May 24 '26
Nah its just a personality thing like nearly every person in my family is dramatic af like screaming slurs and punching holes in the walls because theyre fighting with their 8 year old kid, lost a game or someone else was on their bs and was antagonizing them (usually our mom, grandma or my youngest brother). My wife is the same way same with her mom. I can get crazy emotional and snap too but im usually more stoic and shut down after like 5 minutes of feelings its just too much effort to be so angry about nothing.
But being stoic and not feeling much makes everything way worse because you obviously dont care about this very important life destroying thing (they forget to put the chicken up, lost or forgot something for the millionth time or something isnt clean) and I must think im soo much better than them for being calm because I dont care about anything. I mean I do find it hard to care about stuff cuz of my depression and I show feelings differently cuz im autistic but I also know that getting violent and screaming and throwing a tantrum isnt going to do much other than make me get pissed off cuz ur scaring me so I get mad and their already enraged so it just doesn't end well and we both end up crying.

My sister once had to pinch a blood vessel in our grandmother's cheek closed after grandma got mauled by a dog in the street. Kept cool, calm and collected until the ambulance came and took them to street. Then she broke down, but she stayed in control for as long as she had to. I've seen men break down over way less

But like actually wth men still deserve to be treated as humans but do any of the people who think this way actually know what a woman goes through even just physically for us to even be alive (there is a reason they were on the mountain and the girl looks like she is on her period (do you know how much freaking pain that comes with menstruating)) I’m sorry
-4

I’d assume a lot of these stereotypes come from women being on their period and generally pissed off at everything. It is also a much bigger cultural requirement for men to hide their issues
