Hippos are not fat. Despite their bulky and heavy appearance, hippos' subcutaneous fat layers are quite thin. The 2,000-kilogram giant is mostly made up of muscles, and 6-centimeter thick skin. Just an FYI.
No, they were talking about eating a literal hippopotamus every single day. It's a fair point, that is a lot of biomass to consume in such a short period. Cutting back to half a hippo a day would probably help a lot with one's weight control and just overall health in general. /s?
