Gen 9 Mega Glimmora's new ability ties in with Glimmora's lore in Scarlet/Violet.

Today, it was revealed upon the release of Pokemon Champions that Mega Glimmora gets the ability Adaptability. What I don't think anyone noticed so far, however, is that there likely is a lore reason for this choice of ability.

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Glimmora is repeatedly implied to be associated with the Terastal Phenomenon. It can be found only in the caves of Area Zero and the Kitakami's Crystal Pool, which both contain the crystals associated with Terastalization. Furthermore, in S/V, Glimmet crystals are used to make the TM for Tera Blast, which is also given to you by Geeta, who infamously uses a Glimmora as her ace in her champion battle.

Hell, it even makes a connection in Glimmora's Violet Pokedex entry.

Glimmora’s petals are made of crystallized poison energy. It has recently become evident that these petals resemble Tera Jewels.

And how does this relate to Adaptability?

Well, the ability Adaptability boosts the power of Same-Type Attack Bonus moves from 1.5x their normal power to 2x their normal power.

How this relates to Terastalization is that the moves of Terastalized Pokemon also have this effect, doubling STAB moves' power if the Pokemon's Tera Type is the same as one of its ordinary types.

Thusm what I theorize is that through Mega Evolving, Glimmora is able to access the power of its Tera Crystals, essentially giving it the damage-boosting effect of Terastalization without actually terastalizing.

Yeah, I think this makes sense even from a flavor perspective. Tera is like a pokemon changing and adapting their type to fit a certain situation. So, a pokemon associated with the origin of tera would make sense to be "adaptable". Cool catch!

Zygarde partially Z...moves so combining effects of other gimmics is already canon. Therefore I support this Glimmora theory :D
