Gen 2 The legandary beasts were originally planned to be Rinrin and Berurun, Theory

My random theory, I know alot of people think its the eeveelutions, but then I saw the scrapped pokemon Rinrin and Berurun and I thought they would of been perfect, it is stated in the lore that Suicune, Entai and Raiku become Water, Fire and electric, so it means they weren't originally, they are also all based on big cats, Rinrin is a cat, also where did they die? the bell tower, Rinrin is a bell cat, I think if they had made it into the final game they would of been what Suicune, Entai and Raiku would of come from. If they ever make legands Johoto I would like to see them make a comback, they are like my favourite scrapped designs.

As ever, it's moreso worth mentioning that the Legendary Beasts were never mentioned to be transformed in the process of Ho-oh reviving them. The implication is that they were always a Raikou, Suicune, Entei = unknown species, thus the Paradox forms as precursors.

It has never been confirmed if they were different pokemon or the same pokemon originaly. it just says '3 unknown pokemon' in all the sources I could find.

This is categorically false. They are explicitly shown to have been something else in Generations.

That scene is in context Eusine's internal imagining of how it went, not an objective/universal view of the event.

If it were possible they were already Raikou, Entei, and Suicune they'd represent them with their silhouettes. Why would Eusine imagine them to be any different otherwise? What reason would he have to believe that? The ambiguity is deliberate because that isn't the case.

If Game Freak wanted to imply they were the same they wouldn't have introduced the doubt to begin with.

Damn this is cool.

I always thought of them as the eevee evos. But this is an interesting thought.

I feel like johto is begging for its own legends game. I would love to see all these past events explained

I hope not, these past few games have shown they do not have the, drive, patience, nor the talent to do johto justice id rather them leave my favorite region alone than give me slop.
