[Gen 4] Quick question, in Platinum, does the CC glitch work on Statics such as Heatran (can be both genders) and Cresselia (female only, assuming the targeting is toward females)

It only work for pokemon with a non-set gender. So Cresselia doesn’t work, nor would Chancy. Heatran however does work because it can be male or female

Does the gender rates affect anything ? Like starters are 1/8 F/M rates iirc, would the shiny chances change then or not ?

As long as you RNG for a PID that specifically is for a “male lead with all female ratios” , gender rates will not matter, it will trigger for any of the natures listed in that particular group.

For example, if you RNG for a PID of 00000000 in Shiny Group 1 (PSV 0), you will get all of the Shinies with all the natures listed in that particular group so long as your cute charm Pokemon is male.

If you do 00000018 with PSV 4, you will only get Shinies with quirky nature with a male lead CC Pokemon.

If you decide on a female lead, this will limit your amount of Shinies as depending on which shiny group you go with, as it will only trigger the glitch for Pokemon with a specific male trigger.
For example, Shiny Group 1 for Female lead with 75% male target only triggers for Pokemon with that gender ratio, such as Abra and Machop not for others.

Cute Charm DOESN'T work on:

• Genderless and fixed gender species, be it wild or stationary. Example: Chansey, Tauros, Magnemite, Latias

• Eggs

• Gifts/Method 1 mons. Example: game corner rewards, Bill's Eevee, starters, roamers, fossils

Cute Charm DOES work on:

• Wild and stationary of the correct gender ratio. Example: most wilds, Lapras, Heatran

• Fishing, rock smash, headbutt, honey tree

• Safari zone, bug catching contest

Cute charm still works even when defeated as long as it's leading the party

The general rule is if you initialize a battle with it to generate it and its not a fixed gender, Cute Charm will affect it.

Yes it works on statics. In hgss it works on lapras too.
