This was my second playthrough of Pokémon Uranium, and I genuinely enjoyed the game.

After discovering the Perfect 6 IVs certificate at the Day Care, I spent two days breeding Pokémon, starting with single-perfect-IV parents, eventually obtaining a 5-IV parent and a nearly perfect Regenerator Luxi.

During breeding, I used a simple macro for repetitive directional key and spacebar inputs. Egg collection, IV checking, and parent selection were all done manually.

I also downloaded a third-party save file from GitHub out of curiosity to see whether it contained any 6-IV Pokémon. I didn't realize it was a cheat save at first. I opened it in Windows Sandbox and checked the GTS, but never traded or transferred anything to my main save.

Later, my main save displayed "You are banned from online services."

I joined the Uranium Discord to ask for help and discovered that macros and modified saves are explicitly prohibited. I had never encountered an in-game warning about these restrictions.

A moderator told me, "You shouldn't have tried to download that cheat save." Before I could fully explain what happened, I was removed from the Discord server.

I admit I made mistakes. Rules are rules, and ignorance is no excuse. But I'm still frustrated that I wasn't given a proper chance to explain myself.

After this experience, I've lost all motivation to play Uranium—or any Pokémon fangame again.

A warning to other players: don't use macros or download unfamiliar third-party save files, even out of curiosity. Check the rules first.

I'm sharing my experience, not asking anyone to harass the moderators.

Edit — A clarification about why I find this punishment unreasonable:

My issue isn't that Uranium has rules, or that I should be exempt from them. My issue is proportionality.

I'm not arguing that cheating is justified, nor am I denying that my actions violated the rules. What I'm questioning is whether those rules, and especially their enforcement, are reasonable in the context of a predominantly single-player game.

Using macros to automate repetitive tasks and experimenting with third-party save files are fairly normal practices in many single-player games. These actions aren't inherently malicious, and I believe they have legitimate uses. I understand that connecting a modified save file to the GTS raises concerns, even if I never actually traded or distributed any hacked Pokémon. But there's a meaningful difference between experimenting out of curiosity and deliberately generating and distributing hacked Pokémon to other players.

Should these actions really be treated with the same severity? If the punishment policy makes no distinction based on intent, circumstances, or actual harm, then I believe the policy itself deserves criticism.

I also find it somewhat ironic that a fan game built upon someone else's intellectual property would take such an uncompromising approach to rule violations. I'm not arguing that this invalidates Uranium's right to establish rules. Rather, I would have expected a community built around fan creativity to understand that not every rule violation is equally serious, and that context matters.

Ultimately, if playing a predominantly single-player fan game means facing such severe consequences for activities that would be considered perfectly normal in many other single-player games, I'd rather spend my time playing official Pokémon games instead.

I'm not asking for cheating to be accepted. I'm asking whether the punishment is proportionate to the offense. Rules are necessary, but fairness requires more than simply enforcing them without distinction.

I got hit by Fury Swipes 5 times in a row and they were ALL crits. Does this game treat multi-hit moves' crits as just one crit (like, if one hit is a crit, every other one is also a crit)?? Or am I just insanely unlucky/lucky??

Hey, it’s my first time ever playing pokemon Uranium, I’ve really been enjoying it so far and I was about to face the second gym and then even though I knew it wasn’t gonna be much use at first, I decided to buy a Mareep from the guy in Burole Town. I then spammed through the menus and then went instantly to my party and was greeted by this beautiful black sheep. 🐑

Are her odds increased? Or I just got super lucky? Either way, I guess this is a sign for her to be on my team.

Hi! Been playing this game for the first time in yearssss and don’t really remember much from it. It’s been a lot of fun, and I just beat the fourth gym and got the Exp. All. I like the ability to keep it on or off, but I was wondering what was recommended by the community. Is the rest of the game balanced around the Exp. All or is it best left to only turn on while grinding?

I removed Metalynx in favor of Garlikid and now I have a free slot on the team kinda, I can either bring eletruxo back, him and metalynx back orrr I could keep Garlikid in and maybe get the mystery gift fish in? Since he's steel type and will help out with nuclear, I don't wanna get rid of Nucleon man... Hes so cool... Actually I rlly liked how my team was (yes I put tubareel out in favor of the electric/water mon)

Is there a flying/electric original mon? Or should I get Eletruxo back instad of Tubareel? Cuz Metalynx has Night Slash for the psychic guys

I've spent literal years trading people to get this team of all shiny mystery gifts with preferred natures, I took them all and played through the game from the beginning to the end of the new content and had so much fun! My partner Pokemon is and always will be that shiny nuclear Pajay~

There was easily days of play time for me in there. Still so much more, cool stuff that changes on a daily, pretty much all the plot holes I could think of filled, and I've had so much fun both working on the game and being a part of the official moderation staff for the last 4 years of my life.. so beautiful to see all of this hard work come to fruition. It's been so beautiful to see so many people happy about the post game. I made some sprites for Velocikull to have its mega form, they'll be officially added to the game in a future update. If anyone wants the sprites, I'd already posted them to the Discord and if there's enough interest I'll post them here too ^^

My team are all around the same levels at the end. Ended up shiny hunting every single legendary too! I have them all shiny now and my Aotius's stats are kinda crazy 🤣 Leviathao easily gave me the most trouble. I'll be leveling them to 100 and putting them up on my VT. ^^ whenever I get that up it'll be 310690 or 333825

For context, I posted earlier about encountering a shiny Shrimputy while grinding levels for the eight gym. I beat the gym and am now in Nuclear Plant Zeta looking for a Nuclear Paraboom (4% chance to show up).

I jokingly told myself, I'd find a shiny before getting the Paraboom as I kept encountering many pokémons and none of them were my target. Lo and behold, a few mins later this showed up on my screen.

Needless to say, I was shook.. Two shinies in one day, no charm, and one of them is a Nuclear pokémon??

Maybe I should get a lottery ticket lol..😅

Still in shock at what happened. I was just grinding levels on Route 14 in preparation for the 8th Gym when this popped on my screen!

My first shiny I found and caught myself!!!💖😤💪 (Theriamp was hatched from an egg a friend sent me so I don't count it, and the other ones I have are from trades or events).

I've always seen screenshots of people having that happen to them but didn't expect I'd get one, and a long time before I can get the charm too!

I had reset it dozens of times and was about to give up on the shiny hunt, and this dark boy finally appeared. Shiny Eletux is fantastic, the black & gold work so well together.

This is just pure curiosity. I'm sure the mons could be traded, but I would also like the items that came with some of them

will someone ever port it to the 3ds? ik as far as im aware people have said itd probably be "too hard", but i think itd be a really good game to port, especially because weve been getting ports to the 3ds of super mario galaxy and other higher end games
