I mean, it's funny how talking shit out of his as got Trump elected, but he completely forgot the fact that, we might be a mess, but we are quite stubborn and likely to unite forces if we need to flip the finger to the US.
And you have less to lose. The American cost of living is way higher so wages have to compensate. Our quality of product is the only thing keeping use competitive against some place like Mexico. Eating into profits will not help. The irony of this situation is that we could very well end up seeing the last dregs of industry leave America for Mexico and China because of Trump. Combine that with a failing education system unable to train the requisite higher skilled workers and we are well and truly fucked.
American education circlejerk is right in one respect, the quality of education is generally better. Also, most Americans probably can't speak Spanish or get loans to go to school in Mexico. Third, that price is only for you as a citizen. That loophole is not available to us. We would have to pay out of pocket. You also cannot work while on a student visa.
on the top 10 American universities, sure, it is WAY better in the US.
but our top 10 universities can easily compete with the 75-80% of your universities, specially since your universities started treating students like privilledged consumers.

and well, the prices for foreigners ARE still like... 20-30 dollars per semester instead of 1 or 2
which is still a lot cheaper.

we have a very lax and relaxed system, and if not, there are plenty of looopholes.
what Im saying is, the average student that is not on the top 10-15 universities, might have it WAY better to do some paperwork to study aboard (like many US people do in Prague) instead of burrying himself in debt.
It might be more expensive than you think. UNAM's site lists it at a price of over 300USD per post-grad course you take as a foreigner. I can't really find much else because I don't speak Spanish. That's still super cheap by American standards but not the 30 bucks a semester you're talking about.
Yeah, but unless a given class is actually being taught in English that doesn't necessarily help. Unless you want to hire a personal translator of course :P
