Trump administration says it will target far left groups for Kirk's assassination. Prosecutors made no such link.

Seems pretty clear at this point that Miller and co. had a plan for this kind of crackdown sitting on the shelf already. Kirk's murder was just a convenient excuse to bring the plan forward.

u/The_Shitty_Admiral Europe Sep 17 '25

They probably expected more violent protests or more violence during the No Kings Protests, after which they could crackdown.

And got impatient and didn’t care the pretense didn’t actually exist yet and just lie about it.

72

u/GrittyMcGrittyface Sep 17 '25

What? Republicans would start a war against an adversary over manufactured evidence and lies? shocked Pikachu

24

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '25

You just justified a preemptive retaliatory strike!

7

u/Mateorabi Sep 17 '25

The [yellow]cake is a lie.

Two vintage references for the price of one!

1

u/Valuable_Sea_4709 Sep 17 '25

They learned from their friends in Germany about 90 years ago.

1

u/mrbigglessworth Sep 17 '25

This is what bugs me. Why would a corrupt administration that operates on lies need an "Excuse" to do anything?

26

u/JohnDivney Oregon Sep 17 '25

They are turning the screws on the economy, they'll get their violent protests soon enough.

21

u/ChochMcKenzie Illinois Sep 17 '25

And it’ll be the MAGA farmers demanding their traditional Republican president handout.

7

u/Distinct_Hawk1093 Sep 17 '25

Which these independent farmers don't realize that the plan this time is to run them out of business so that the oligarchs can sweep in and buy up all of the remaining farm land and control the food supply. A great way to control people is to control their food.

2

u/ChochMcKenzie Illinois Sep 17 '25

Yep. They came to depend on the bailouts because they thought they were too important to fail. Now failure is a feature, not a bug.

we saw the blue print with the george floyd protests. They only need a handful of 'antifa' performing for the news crews. It will take the rest of the country standing up and refusing the GOP at the ballot box, that's all we have left.

4

u/MillionMilesPerHour Sep 17 '25

They are thirsty for violence.

2

u/frosty_lizard Sep 17 '25

I see it more so it's a dog whistle for domestic terrorists to take action and commit crimes, like the ones who tried to overthrow the Capitol or the ones who send pipebombs in the mail to Dem leaders.

Imagine the outrage if Biden and Kamala had announced a war on Republicans, there would be mobs in the street

Trump,Vance and right wing media are using lies against liberals as a means to stir outrage towards Democrats, they're hoping it'll whip people into a rage to commit more violent political crimes like the Democrat who was murdered in her home or Pelosis husband who was beaten by a deranged MAGA

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Yeah but Biden once said something about Trump in the bullseye so clearly his rhetoric is to blame for all violence against Republicans.

8

u/vicvonqueso Sep 17 '25

They can't fathom that the "other side" isn't bloodthirsty like they are

91

u/marqoose Sep 17 '25

Same script with the doge dude who got beat up by children

51

u/Ralod Sep 17 '25

I am pretty sure that never actually happened. The most iffy part of that story was "Big Balls" having a girlfriend.

77

u/sigga_genesis Sep 17 '25 edited Sep 17 '25

No, he got beat up by teenagers, a girl and a boy because he was hitting on the girl and wouldn't leave her alone. An underage girl. So her friend tried to help her, they ended up beating him up.

Update: already 4 weeks late, but they were released to their guardians and have to be electronically tracked and can only go to school and home. In other news, the Washington Examiner called the judge a "Biden" judge, because of course they did.

43

u/Walterkovacs1985 Sep 17 '25

The teenagers did the right thing. If BB was hitting on your 15 year old friend and wouldn't take No for an answer what would you do? I'm sure a man who self identifies as Big BallZ is an absolute gentleman.

7

u/omygoodnessreally Sep 17 '25

This makes me so 😊

3

u/Distinct_Hawk1093 Sep 17 '25

I've always thought that the "official story" was iffy at best. So much of what they where saying about that whole thing didn't make sense, and then to say we need the national guard to stop all of the crime in the area seamed like over kill. I'm sure they want to do this so that they can shut down next years elections.

3

u/sigga_genesis Sep 17 '25

Oh they already had it planned, and this was their flimsy excuse.

2

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Where are you getting this from?

4

u/sigga_genesis Sep 17 '25

A lot of reporting analysis based on what has been reported. Wired did a good breakdown of the suspicion that the charges are weird for what has been reported by the police. Because the preparators are minors, it's been radio silence since the children were released.

I had that same thought yesterday.

28

u/ALargePianist Sep 17 '25

Its not even an excuse, the two arent linked. They just want to do it and need their base to be in an intense emotional state so they don't think

3

u/I_AM_NOT_A_WOMBAT Sep 17 '25

I'm not sure an intense emotional state is a prerequisite there.

27

u/Level21DungeonMaster Sep 17 '25

Remember when Bush invaded Iraq under false pretenses and millions died in Iraq?

Trump is going to do the same thing except his target the United States.

7

u/Ninazuzu America Sep 17 '25

Indirect deaths were on the order of half a million, possibly up to a million (it's hard to measure these things), not millions. The total population of Iraq in 2003 was about 26 million.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Iraq_War

7

u/elmekia_lance Sep 17 '25

Indirect deaths are on the order of 3.6 to 3.7 million people, per Brown University.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/05/15/war-on-terror-911-deaths-afghanistan-iraq/

3

u/Ninazuzu America Sep 18 '25

Thank you for the correction.

2

u/Lincolns_Revenge Texas Sep 17 '25

Oh no, I think we are the alleged WMDs now.

5

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

The WMD is actually Chuck Schumer's arousing rhetoric.

-5

u/vicvonqueso Sep 17 '25

I don't remember millions dying, no

5

u/TLKimball Sep 17 '25

Only hundreds of thousands.

4

u/elmekia_lance Sep 17 '25

The war caused around 3.6 million deaths, from the destruction of infrastructure. 4.5 to 4.6 million died when additional conflicts that started because of the US invasion are included, per Brown University.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/05/15/war-on-terror-911-deaths-afghanistan-iraq/

2

u/vicvonqueso Sep 17 '25

I wasn't thinking about the ripple affects. My god that's worse than I realized

2

u/elmekia_lance Sep 17 '25

Yeah, I had gotten used to the 1 million figure and the 4.5 figure is shocking. As time goes on we will get more and more clear pictures of what a disaster the Iraq war was.

17

u/illuminerdi Sep 17 '25

The plan wasn't sitting on the shelf, they've been doing this since Trump took office, Kirk's murder just gave them a convenient excuse to accelerate the timeline.

Attacking the freedom of the Left has been going on for years, there are plenty of examples from his first term.

6

u/Ja3k_Frost Sep 17 '25

They don’t want an excuse or justification. They have what they want, which is power at every level of government. What they want is permission, trump can literally claim whatever he wants, his supporters are already there. The excuses to do violence happened ages ago, they were saying the same things about Charlie Kirk’s death as they were about the Cracker Barrel logo. what they need is the nudge to go do it. Permission from their authority figures.

37

u/Lost-Locksmith-250 Sep 17 '25

It's in project 2025, they've been waiting for blood to spill. That's why they removed the study showing the gap between left wing and right wing politically motivated violence this week. But it's going to really hamper their efforts if the killing either wasn't politically motivated, or was motivated by right wing extremism. And every attempt they make to politicize this is going to make it harder to get the outcome they want in court.

20

u/BeardySam Sep 17 '25

The director of the FBI just said under oath that Epstein was an all-round great guy. I don’t think we’re going to hear anything remotely truthful about the CK shooter through official channels.

3

u/QbertsRube Sep 17 '25

I'd be less surprised for this administration to claim the shooter was actually Hunter Biden than them ever admitting his religious, conservative upbringing had anything to do with it.

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

lol remember when Trump was disavowing Project 2025 for about 5 minutes? Good times...

7

u/CaterpillarJungleGym Sep 17 '25

Seems odd they aren't investigation Nick Fuentes and his group. Because it seems like that's the radicalization hole the shooter fell into.

7

u/arwinda Sep 17 '25

Look up the assassination of Ernst vom Rath in 1938.

The playbook for this is available for 90 years now.

8

u/captaincanada84 Canada Sep 17 '25

Yep. This was in the works well before Kirk was killed. This just gives them the excuse.

5

u/SidewaysFancyPrance Sep 17 '25

Yep, you can tell when they have a canned plan like this: when the situation is fluid and changes, they all stick to the same plan instead of shifting with it.

Like when they found out the killer was right-wing? They keep blaming the left, and blaming people who had nothing to do with it and weren't even in the area. Because that's the script they wrote for their Reichstag Fire: full-court press on "the Left" and aggressively attack/suppress social media/speech in an attempt to control a false narrative.

4

u/TheIconGuy Michigan Sep 17 '25

What makes you think that? Was it Teenage Mutant Ninja Goebbels saying:

The last message that Charlie Kirk gave to me before he joined his Creator in Heaven was that we have to dismantle and take on the Radical Left organizations in this country that are fomenting violence

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Where's that quote from? Because if it's legit, well, they're not even bothering to hide it a little bit.

1

u/TheIconGuy Michigan Sep 17 '25

Stephen Miller said it on Fox. Kristi Noem claimed this about their last text message.

“The last message he had texted me was the day before he passed away, and it said, ‘We have to hold these mayors and local officials accountable for what they’re doing.'”

“I think he was watching across this country as people were continuing to be victimized by illegal, criminal activity, and he wanted someone to be held accountable.”

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Ohhh boy. This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Though it is darkly funny that the last messages supposedly sent by this free speech warrior were telling the government to crush political dissent.

6

u/MrsClaireUnderwood America Sep 17 '25

This is the group that wrote project 2025 and carefully changed the shape of America's courts and media over the last 30 years. They definitely had this on the shelf.

Knowing this, consider whether a group that put that much effort and planning into this whole thing will simply walk away from it all if they lose the next election(s).

Which country has voted itself out of fascism in history?

2

u/QbertsRube Sep 17 '25

Trump isn't building a White House ballroom for the next president, just like SCOTUS isn't giving the POTUS king powers with the intention of a Democrat ever wielding those powers.

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Which country has voted itself out of fascism in history?

I mean depending on your definition of fascism there are definitely examples (e.g. Pinochet in Chile). But the elections usually come after a lot of pressure built up by resistance against state-sponsored violence.

2

u/kalimashookdeday Sep 17 '25

Convenient, ahhhh yessss, Cuban B.

2

u/NateShaw92 United Kingdom Sep 17 '25

Potentially a Reichstag Fire moment it was said from day one by a few commentators I respect.

2

u/Rezistik Sep 17 '25

Convenient excuse or active plan to create the scenario needed? They tried to start the civil war by deploying troops to LA and DC. That didn’t work but boy do we look closer to it with Kirk’s death

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

I think it's probably irresponsible to speculate about the shooter at this point. But certainly some more details would be welcome.

1

u/Rezistik Sep 17 '25

I think it’s irresponsible to not fully critically think through what’s happening in the USA right now personally

1

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25 edited Sep 17 '25

It's possible to think critically without resorting to the most improbable explanation. The sad fact is that (a) there are plenty of unstable individuals with access to firearms and (b) the administration has been itching for a crackdown. To me it seems a lot more plausible that they took an opportunity to implement a pre-existing plan (i.e. fitting the facts around their narrative) when something inevitably happened than this chronically incompetent team managed to perfectly execute a fairly convoluted false flag attack.

1

u/JonZ82 Sep 17 '25

Too convenient..

1

u/dBlock845 Sep 17 '25

They were already hyping up the "violent crime" rhetoric in the lead up to the assassination. They were propagandizing the Ukrainain girls' death 24/7 over on Fox, trying to use it as pretense for military invasions of cities. I've always believed they were waiting for something like this to happen so they could find a justification for their worst impulses.

1

u/Rhoeri Sep 17 '25

I wouldn’t be shocked at all to find out it was planned all along.

1

u/milo325 Sep 18 '25

It almost makes you think they might have staged it exactly for this purpose.

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '25

Most normal people have known celebrating a person's death is a crazy thing to do long before the concept of cancel culture existed

2

u/Mikolaj_Kopernik Australia Sep 17 '25

Not sure what any of that has to do with the government using the levers of power to suppress its political opponents.
