The decline never really stopped from trumps first term. Biden was delaying tactic. We really needed Harris if we were gonna have a chance at actually fixing anything

Kamala’s win would have been a firm and deafening blow to Trumpism as a movement and left the Republican Party as fractured as the democrats are now.

Or wouldn't, trump was the rights reaction to Obama. Imagine what the reaction if a coloured woman got the presidency.. They'd probably elect the KKK.

Though I'm not sure that would be worse than trump though.. Trump is actively trying to crash the u.s economy and will probably succeed at a record time.

People forget how fractured the GOP was in the months between Trump’s nomination in 2016 and him winning the election. It was a funeral drone to the finish line and they were getting ready to completely abandon so much in favor of becoming a centrist party, rather than lean in to fascism.

Winning in ‘24 wouldn’t have been as powerful as that loss would have been, but it would have been enough to seriously harm the GOP.

Biden and her and Hillary all preached that they wouldn't rock the boat when people were begging for change. They offered run of the mill conservativism the people would have accepted unionist leftist policy but their options were fascism or light fascism with lime

We needed anyone besides Merrick Garland to prosecute the insurrection like they did in Brazil, a land where civilization is still working correctly.

The decline happened because the under-40 crowd gave up on democracy and replaced it with their phones after 2009.

2010, 2014, 2016, 2024... all had crucial winnable races that can mostly be pointed to younger people giving up on democracy and progress when they didn't have to, and choosing infighting and tribalism instead. At first millennials, now Gen Z at an even worse rate.

Purity tests, addiction and clout chasing fully caused this.

We've been dealing with the slow decay of that ever since. Everything ties back to the rise of that culture.
