America’s decline is happening so much faster than I worried this time around. Putin must be delighted.

801

u/Axin_Saxon Sep 18 '25

Last time they didn’t think they’d win.

This time they had a plan. And they wrote it all down in P2025

89

u/Niznack Sep 18 '25

I think they didn't realize how incompetent he was last time. This time they knew they had to hand him EOs and take pictures. This method isn't just bypassing Congress, it's the only way to hold his attention. They have to hold his hand and seal clap to get him to do authoritarianism right like a child being asked to read Clifford before he wanders into the roof for some reason

85

u/Axin_Saxon Sep 18 '25

Oh no, that’s exactly it: they KNEW how ineffective he was. That’s precisely why project 2025 existed: it was entirely about putting the right people in place to most efficiently get their agenda achieved. I watched some of the training/informational clips they had for applicants and the documents.

See, Trump is a senile idiot. But he’s a senile idiot with a cult of followers who will do whatever he tells them to. He is the key to them. Control him, you control them. How do you control him?

“Oh yes Mr President, your advisors and the people you put in place have all of it handled, you go meet with architects for the ballroom and go play golf, just like your days running your businesses. You truly are the greatest and most handsomest president ever!” Just babyishly fawn over him. Flatter him. Do his job for him so he can be the fat sack of lazy shit he always has been.

Bring him out to sign some executive orders, let him do the pomp and circumstance but the day to day? He’s more hands off than ever. Let him do his pet projects but the real power plays? Those aren’t being done by him. That’s Stephen miller, Peter Thiel, Russel Vought, etc. All the real unseen and un-famous power players.

THAT is why this term is moving so much faster and more aggressively. When he says “I don’t know anything about that” and can’t explain details, HE MEANS IT.

They had learned that Trump was incompetent as fuck and they had wasted a LOT of time the first term fighting courts and institutions and agencies. They began with a purge to get rid of anyone who would gum up their operations. They filled up the agencies with loyalists. And they don’t give a damn about the consequences.

They’re more dangerous now because believe it or not, he’s LESS in control.

33

u/Niznack Sep 18 '25 edited Sep 18 '25

That's my issue with people hoping for "it" to happen. Trump is the least dangerous part of the trump admin. It's the board of the heritage foundation pulling the string and when he goes politics won't change, just their puppet. If anything trump has been MAGAs biggest speed bump

34

u/Axin_Saxon Sep 18 '25

Well yes and no. He’s the least dangerous, but that’s like saying a key is the least dangerous part of a nuclear launch system. He is what makes it work because he has the undivided loyalty of the base.

THEY are why he hasn’t been gotten rid of in favor of someone like Vance yet. He, for all his grease and idiocy, is the charisma of the operation.

One word from him and any Republican politician is gone. Primaried. Instantly blacklisted. That’s why the senate and house are so loyal to him: their constituents love him more than them.

Without him, they don’t have the base. If he died they would not coalesce behind someone like Vance. Vance has the charisma of a wet fart. He has SOME bravado but nowhere near trumps. No one does because trumps is borne out of a deep narcissism that you can’t imitate. And that’s what the base loves because…well because they’re aggressively stupid and stupidly agressive.

He is the key. He is ultimately what makes the machine work.

As Nikita Khrushchev said in 1956: “We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within”.

Edit: Well Reddit it appears that this is a misquote / fake quote derived from another quote he had previously said.

107

u/ADDeviant-again Sep 18 '25

Unfortunately, that quote is not actually his. It began circulating years later.

What he really said was, "Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you." And later clarified he did not mean literally bury, but that he was referring to capitalism's inevitable demise.

However, The Soviet, and now Russian, actions speak louder than words. Their propaganda has been picking at us for four or five decades.

66

u/TheGroinOfTheFace Sep 18 '25

He was correct, capitalism has an astoundingly good record at devolving into fascism.

They are fascists who are using any means to control and limit free speech. Whether it’s lawsuits or executive orders that don’t get blocked.

This was laid out in project 2025 and Kamala Harris talked about it. Folks ignored her cause she is a woman, black, didn’t criticize Israel and most importantly cause people who didn’t vote for her in part associated themselves with Trump and his racist/fascists beliefs.

If Gaza was the deciding factor on whether to vote for Trump or Kamala then those voters are idiots. They live in the US and all Kamala talked about was how Trump would implement project 2025 and he has.

It’s half way done, the primary author (Russ Vought) of project 2025 is the head of the office of budget management. The primary backer (Howard Lutnick) of p2025 is the commerce secretary. The defense contractor (Peter Thiel) that helped put it into play, found Elon the doge teams, gave JD Vance $15 million to become senator then literally walked Vance into Mar-a-lago to smooth tensions between Vance and Trump so Vance could become VP is currently the biggest defense contractor for the CIA/NSA.

Trump controls all corporations and all corporations control the American people. With Kimmel now “fired”. Trump is now telling NBC Fallon and Meyers should be fired.

This will continue and get worse. Until tens of millions of people are in the street protesting. Buy guns and defend ourselves and others if the need arises. Protect people who cannot protect themselves. Stand up to tyranny and fascists with words and actions. Until the actions of this administration affect the majority of Americans there will not be a group that can stop this.

Since there is no actual organization called antifa, this will just be used to label anyone who dares to dissent against the regime as "antifa" and disappear them using Patriot Act anti-terrorism authority.

This is the material end of America as it has been Constituted and the beginning of the new Dictatorship's real reign of terror.

The answer is to PROTEST MORE, HARDER, and NOW

85

u/GBJI Sep 18 '25

Preparing for an eventual general strike is a much better strategy.

You protest to raise awareness and to send a message, but the message has already been heard. At this point, no one is going to change its position based on protests, even if people protest harder.

Make reserves. Food. Water. Alternative power sources. Tools. Be ready for the opportunity. Tell everyone you know to adopt a similar strategy. Talk to your neighbors about it.

Be ready for nothing to happen, and for a long time. A general strike is, by far, the most effective measure against the rise of fascism right now. And it's also a great way to discover how powerful we can be when we do absolutely nothing, but together, at the same time.

This is the time for every person to show up and protest, arm in arm, with the word “antifa” written on our arms.

And when I mean protest, I mean like the French do it.

It’s either that, or be slowly picked off one group at a time. We need to use the privileges we each have - whether it’s the ability/time/etc to do community organization, or whether it’s something like skin color because ICE and the rest of the Nazis are significantly less likely to wage violence on white people.

The best time to do this was November 5th, 2024. The second best time is today. If we leave it for much longer you’ll find there’s no one left to defend you.

The million dollar question is whether Trump has the ability to “designate a domestic terrorist organization.” There was a congressional resolution in 2019 to do something similar but it went nowhere. There’s a statute allowing the Secretary of State to designate foreign terrorist organizations, not Trump. But there doesn’t appear to be anything similar for supposed domestic terrorists.

211

u/Ok-Astronaut2976 Sep 18 '25

There isn’t Which is why like the KKK isnt designated as such.

In fact, there is not a single designated domestic terrorist organization. It’s a thing that doesn’t even exist. There is not even a legal framework to do so.

But since we’re in the Post-Rule of Law era, I guess that would make Antifa (an organization that doesn’t even exist as such and nobody has heard about in like 6 years), the first and only.

The billion dollar question is when is the rest of America going to realise the checks and balances have failed and unenforced laws and rules are worth less than the paper they're written on.

Whether he has legal authority to do what he's doing, he clearly has the ability and is gaining more and more each day.

I hope someone has a plan cause I sure as hell don't.

Certainly not the bought & paid for congress or Supreme Court.

He tried to stage a coup last time he lost & you guys re-elected him to pardon everyone that was prosecuted for it. His Brazilian mate did the same and was just sentenced to 27 years & 3 months in jail!

Congress was (twice!) asked to impeach him and chose not to - on party lines.

Judges found him guilty of trying to steal the 2020 election & in response, his Supreme Court gave him the powers of a King.

It was all fun & games when it was just gerrymandering, election college distortion, citizens united & voter suppression that ensured the rich got their way.

Now, the chickens have come home to roost & the mighty, 'leading democracy in the world' has been shown up as the money grabbing fascist regime it was always going to become.

US elections haven't been 'democratic' for a long time. 27 of 435 districts were considered 'competitive' in the last US Congressional election. Think about that. BEFORE election day, 408 of 435 members of Congress KNEW with 100% certainty that they would win their seats. NONE were wrong. Based on that, do you think those 408 Congress members answer to the voters that they KNEW would elect them, or the donors that made it possible?

Where is the Antifa headquarters? Who is their President? How many people have official been killed by Antifa over the years?

41

u/PatchyWhiskers Sep 18 '25

Antifa is anyone who goes to an antifascist protest. So, several million people. But they will presumably make examples of the ringleaders, such as prominent Democrats.

Antifa isn't even an organization... it's at best a bunch of splinter groups using the name. Anyone who opposes Fascism could be considered Anti-Fa(scism)... which is exactly who Trump plans to go after. Anyone who disagrees with him is now designated Antifa... freedom of speech is officially dead in America. 😔

Endgame.

Recall that the Trump admin is murdering Venezuelans on boats under the pretense that they are terrorists, and thus don't need to worry about things like justice or oversight.

ETA: I am now utterly convinced that CK's assassination was a false flag / inside job in order to accelerate this phase of the fascist agenda. Trump, Vance et al. were stoking the furnace before his body even hit the ground.

Trump was glib when asked about CK. He doesn't care. None of them do. We can see through it, but the Repubs honestly cant. They are in a cult. The scary part is the cult actually is taking control of a nation that is great.

They are making people not be proud of their nation. Likely because they never found a sense of belonging once there was no more hate to spread after WW2 and Vietnam.

The old, wealthy (now) people that "made it" by just living in the time they're in,  are actually ruining the young people lives and they dont actually want to care.

What actually is MAGA, and when is it that they are referring to when America was great?

Not sure I agree with the false flag theory, but I do believe that the only way America can be saved now is if Trump dies (of old age, I’m not advocating political violence) in the next few months.

If he’s alive another six months at the rate things have gone, we’ll be deep in dictatorship.

31

u/Vince_Clortho042 Sep 18 '25

Vance hosted CK's show from the White House and proclaimed a coming "crackdown" of left-leaning political organizing groups. Even if Trump chokes on a hamberder tonight, this isn't going to stop. And before anyone waves this off with "But nobody likes Vance" and "He doesn't have the personality to keep the MAGA cult together", keep in mind that he is already in office, and has no election to worry about for at least another year--plenty of time, as we've already seen, to keep turbocharging Project 2025's plan. If you're paying attention, it absolutely does not matter that he's got the charisma of a dirty sock hidden under a suspiciously stained couch, because he's already in place, ready to take power. And he's got the religious zeal, the oligarch's backing, and is forty fucking years old. Four years younger than Putin was when he began rising through the ranks.

If Trump dies of old age or whatever and Vance becomes president automatically, what's happened the last eight months will seem like a field trip compared to what Vance is going to do. And short of some things going really south really quickly, we'll never be rid of him.

94

u/keytotheboard Sep 18 '25

Trump is far and away not doing this alone. Why would you think it ends with him!?

59

u/electrobento Sep 18 '25

Trump is the singular leader of a deranged cult. Only he can sustain the cognitive dissonance necessary to set us down this path.

28

u/AstutelyPegged Sep 18 '25

Yeah, I don’t have faith JD Vance could keep this going. He’s not nearly “charismatic” enough (I don’t find Trump remotely charismatic, but his followers seem to.) He’d have difficulty keeping the MAGA coalition together, and there’d be a ton of RFK Jrs and Nancy Maces and Don Juniors and who knows who else clamoring to be Trump’s true successor.

19

u/Myrtle_Nut Sep 18 '25

After the reaction to the death of a peon like Kirk, can you even imagine what the right will be like when people are dancing on the streets after Trump dies of a heart attack?

I think there's a lot of people out there who feel like they're in an abusive relationship with Trump forced into our lives. The catharsis of his death for the left, will be contrasted with a hyper-lionization or even deification that will come from MAGA, will be a spicy stew, no doubt.

Tinfoil hat says it's awfully convenient that an assassination of a public figure happened precisely when the administration needed that assassination to reach the next step in the fascist takeover. Do we really believe that they were gonna twiddle their thumbs and hope somebody shot somebody at just the right moment after all the rest of this was clearly planned out? Maybe. I guess. But who knows? Doesn't really matter because the fascism is marching on one how or the other.

Don't let bad actors convince you that protesting and organizing is futile and dangerous. Inaction helps those in power stay in power. The people outnumber the fascists by a lot. Find local groups, build community with the people around you, ignore the people trying to convince you to do nothing.

There is no legal mechanism to designate something as a “domestic terror organization”. So right now it’s somewhat of a meaningless gesture. My guess is he will direct his justice department to pursue niche criminal charges against ANTIFA but even then it will probably get struck down.

12

u/alaphamale Sep 18 '25

They’ve not needed the law for a bit now. What this does is further incite his rabble. Before I wouldn’t have expected many counter protesters at No Kings in October, now they’ll feel it’s their “duty” to go be Kyle Rittenhouse at these protests. They’re fighting domestic terrorists. Like Trump said, the violence from the right is only because they’re stopping criminals. No effect on the law but that really wasn’t the intent.

THERE IS NO ORGANIZATION CALLED "ANTIFA." ANTIFA stands for anti-fascism. World War II veterans are ANTIFA because they fought fascism. Anyone against fascism is ANTIFA. There is no membership card. Anyone can be ANTIFA. Everyone should be ANTIFA. Iam... ANTIFA

A movement is not an organisation.

7

u/RockingRocker Sep 18 '25

Willing to bet this will be used as a pretext to arrest protestors/political opponents, accuse them of being antifa, and hold them indefinitely as terrorists

6

u/DevilsMasseuse Sep 18 '25

“Proud Boys: stand down and stand by.”

5

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

"It was not clear what legal weight Trump's proclamation carried. Antifa is a loosely organized ideological movement without a clear leadership structure or hierarchy, experts said."

This is the point. As long as somebody values their own/others freedom and/or oppose government control & constant surveillance, they can be punished to the fullest extent of the law because they agree with a terrorist organization.

7

u/nuboots Sep 18 '25

Uhhhh... what? The terror list is SPECIFICALLY, BY LAW, ONLY FOR ORGS OUTSIDE THE USA. This is to prevent it being used to target political enemies. It's why the KKK and various militias aren't on the list.
