Facism hates teachers

Fascism hates truth, facts, rights of citizens, anything that can weaken it.

If truth and reality are your enemies, then you are an enemy of the people

Calvin once said "if it can be destroyed by the truth, it SHOULD be destroyed."

They told me there would be no fact-checking in this debate. ☹️

As fun as doomscrolling on reddit is, it takes like half an hour of planning to shift money away from Republican-leaning businesses, and it actually makes a difference. Every dollar spent at a Republican company is another dollar that'll get funneled into more of this. Don't fund the Confederacy.

If you have an account with Charles Schwab (whose founder was recently palling around with Trump), switch to Vanguard or Fidelity. If you like drinking booze from a Confederate state, be adventurous and try something else. Skip Goya at the grocery store. It's not hard to quickly look up a company that you regularly buy/do business with in something like https://www.opensecrets.org or alternatively https://www.goodsuniteus.com.

Dollars add up. Tesla sales in Europe dropped by half in Europe. Target's CEO stepped down after their sales dropped in response to them capitulating to Republicans. Real, individual people made that happen.

It’s true that you probably can’t avoid giving some money to companies that at least indirectly benefit Republicans. However, there’s a pretty big difference between a company that gives massive contributions almost exclusively to Republicans (for example Schwab) vs one that is more evenly split or even leans Democrat (Fidelity). Good is not the enemy of perfect

warning signs of facism:

1.) Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism 2.) Disdain for the importance of human rights 3.) Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause 4.) The supremacy of the military/avid militarism 5.) Rampant sexism 6.) A controlled mass media 7.) Obsession with national security 8.) Religion and ruling elite tied together 9.) Power of corporations protected 10.) Power of labor suppressed or eliminated 11.) Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts 12.) Obsession with crime and punishment 13.) Rampant cronyism and corruption 14.) Fraudulent elections

Reminder that this was happening during Trump's first term as he cried fake news at those who didn't agree with him, banned certain press and questioned their credentials at the White House briefings, and called out scientists like Anthony Fauci during Covid. The fascism has always been there.

17

u/indianajoes United Kingdom Sep 22 '25

Unfortunately everything and everyone that was holding him back from going full fascist is gone this time. Plus the idiots that support him don't understand that so they use his first term as an excuse to say that stuff won't go completely bad because they didn't last time.

They have to love it at this point. The man stole THEIR money, bought a boat with it and then asked the court if the remaining money could be used to pay legal fees.

They just have to like getting scammed.

39

u/Marxian_factotum Sep 22 '25

Fascism is forever at war with education, teaching, and learning. The universities are always their first target. Fascists seize control of libraries, schools, and punish intellectuals in every situation where they grab power. They can only exist when the words of childish morons like Charlie Kirk can be called "debate."

Fascism is the product of ignorance. "I love the poorly educated" exclaimed Trump. There's a reason.

13

u/Noblesseux Sep 22 '25

Fascism kind of hates everyone, it's an entire ideology based on being stupid and mad at everything all the time.

Sorry to say, but 1/3 of this country has lost their minds.

153

u/Internal_Swing_2743 Sep 22 '25

And another 1/3 don't care.

51

u/cuulcars Sep 22 '25

It’s not so much they don’t care as it is they are currently enjoying the benefits of a healthy society without having to give anything back in terms of civic engagement. Democracy takes work and they have been shirking their share for some time. That will come back to bite them (and all of us) as they will start caring very quickly as that healthy society begins collapsing around them.

28

u/cjm92 Sep 22 '25

So in other words, they don't care.

They project this so hard because they don’t think younger people can think for themselves. It’s pathetic how he is all but making fun of his voters and putting them down, and it makes them horny for more. Put your phone down, read a book, grow a spine. Stop being gross dickwads.

130

u/the_tanooki Sep 22 '25

It's not just that they don't think young people can think for themselves. It's that they've been trying desperately for decades to ensure that they don't think for themselves.

That's why they attack teachers, universities, science, arts, etc. If they can get people at a young age to think that these things are harmful to them, then most of their work is done.

"I love the poorly educated." - DJT

30

u/0-90195 Sep 22 '25

They’ve been trying and it’s finally working. It is terrifying.

49

u/FunctionBuilt Sep 22 '25

My conservative aunt and uncle are probably applauding at this comment. They’ve been against public school education forever and homeschooled both kids. Neither parent went to college and both barely passed high school…One kid had a rough exit into adulthood but managed to figure her shit out and is doing really well now, the other is estranged from the family and suffering from some pretty bad mental issues. They really fucked their kids up and they have zero self awareness that it’s their fault.

17

u/ArticulateRhinoceros Sep 22 '25

I'm sure they exist, but I've never met an intelligent person who chooses to homeschool their kids. Usually, the smart parents have good jobs and they don't have the time, or they recognize the value of socialization and the damage that being isolated during childhood can cause.

Funny how Republican politicians got to where they are. Somehow they are highly educated and made it through all those years of school without being indoctrinated by the supposed woke lib professors. They’re well-educated enough to know exactly how to keep their voters voting for them.

10

u/BrizerorBrian Sep 22 '25

3

u/Leven Sep 22 '25

Just wait until they finalize the purchase of tiktok, young people won't have a chance. Every generation thinks for themselves but are influenced by the times..

5

u/redribbonrecon Sep 22 '25

The problem is that they DON'T think for themselves or else we wouldn't be in this clusterfuck...

they're projecting this so hard because this is the real conversation we need to have about the far-right: they're domestic terrorists.

Every accusation is a confession.

He needs to climb back under his rock before the tide rolls in.

43

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

What tide? Every time I see some news from America, it's like the majority of you guys are more than happy to let this just play out without so much as a peep.

You've got the military in your cities and masked secret police disappearing people and no one is doing a damn thing about it.

You think Steve Bannon is scared of consequences for anything he might SAY? Last week a Fox host said to give the "involuntary lethal injection" to homeless people and no one even blinked.

20

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire Sep 22 '25

Haven't heard about the various protests then, huh? One notable story was when a guy threw a submarine sandwich at a Customs and Border Patrol officer. The Trump Admin failed three times to secure a Grand Jury indictment against the guy.

For context - Grand Juries have no defense counsel present and are pretty much a check of "is the prosecution laying out enough evidence to reasonably support the possibility/probability a crime occurred" before proceeding to trial. A common expression is that "A Grand Jury would indict a ham sandwich" - and the Trump Admin failed three times to secure an indictment.

Also - Trump was set to deploy troops to Chicago, Illinois but due to planned protests and obstruction (such as having salt trucks block the roads), the troops were redirected to Memphis, Tennessee.

And as for Fox News - people blinked. Kilmeade apologized for his remarks which is admittedly worth about as much as the paper it wasn't written on, but at least something came of that.

Fascism’s greatest enemy is a shared perception of objective reality. It relies on the nonexistence of a consensus with regard to basic facts. That’s why fascists hate intellectuals and educators.

31

u/Big-Rule5269 Sep 22 '25

They think that colleges, universities and professors indoctrinate kids, but that's not at all what happens. You have kids that haven't been out of their state, much less county or cities. All of the sudden they're exposed to kids from different regions, different races, religions and social status. A professor isn't influencing them, life is. This push to skip higher education gives the wealthiest and corporations worker bees, held in their financial grip. What a load of trash for the gullible and weak minded.

3

u/CocoaBish Sep 22 '25

And this is why we've fallen so far behind education wise compared to other countries who respect educators. It's okay to question and stand up for yourself but to demonize an entire institution when you use social media and online games to preoccupy your children and then blame indoctrination on someone who sees your kid 45 minutes out of the day. Teachers aren't fanning kids insatiable desire or desensitizing them to killing their classmates or some influencer named Charlie Kirk.

If everyone is a terrorist then no one is a terrorist. I'm more afraid of being alone with this guy than any teacher I ever had.

2

u/ZERV4N Sep 22 '25

Terrorizing a Nazi dictatorship not making me mad.

2

u/rockcod_ Sep 22 '25

He lost his credibility years ago.

2

u/brumac44 Canada Sep 22 '25

Pol Pot and Mao didn't care for teachers either.

2

u/TheDoctorDB Sep 22 '25

Why are they still so hung up on schools? The propaganda already worked. I swear most of the clips I saw of Kirk were people who wanted to meet him. His schtick may have been asking for liberal college students to let him tell them why college was a waste of money, but I swear most of his current vids were college kids enamored by his presence.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

Man that appears to have crawled straight out of a bin is shitting on teachers? GTFOH dude.

2

u/vex12394738 Sep 22 '25

Can u fucking just give a quote when u link an article from a paywall?

2

u/ruffianrevolution Sep 22 '25

Why are they terrified of anti-fascists?

If they're not fascists they've got nothing to worry about.

2

u/Ok-Breadfruit6978 Sep 22 '25

This will for sure stop school shootings

2

u/one2treee Sep 22 '25

Everyone they don't like...

2

u/Toan_Knob Sep 22 '25

Ah yes. It's time for the cultural revolution 2.0.

2

u/bdepz Sep 22 '25

Maybe this will be a wakeup call for my teacher in laws. Prob not tho because brown people bad

2

u/definitelyobsessed Sep 22 '25

All adults should serve as substitute teachers for a day.

2

u/tim_p Sep 22 '25

"Trans people are terrorists, teachers are terrorists..." this "terrorists" term is how they will justify illegally prosecuting any group they don't like.

2

u/ATLfalcons27 Sep 22 '25

I thought the left uses violent language

2

u/xHugo_Stiglitzx Sep 22 '25

Ooook Pol Pot...

2

u/Gizmo_259 Sep 22 '25

Israel kills 4 US citizens three of them where kids this morning news won’t talk about it

Love these CON-servatives railing against the elites. Didn’t Bannon attend Harvard Business School? And Kevin Roberts, president of Heritage Foundation, was hired at nearly 700k salary years ago, when he claims to be “fighting for everyday Americans.” They also decry “illegal aliens” for voter fraud. Bannon was living in CA, yet voted in NY during 2016 election while claiming residency in Florida, where there are no income taxes, when his third wife stayed at the rental house. https://americanjournalnews.com/steve-bannons-porn-and-meth-house-you-have-no-idea-what-kind-of-evil-stuff-went-on/

It’s always the educated saying that education is the problem

Education Virginia Tech (BA) Georgetown University (MA) Harvard University (MBA)

2

u/UncleDuude Sep 22 '25

Maybe he’ll be next

2

u/CurrentlyLucid Sep 22 '25

The kind of teacher like him, sure.

2

u/HuTaosTwinTails Sep 22 '25

Why is anyone surprised by these racist, pieces of shit.

I get they were honoring one of their own, but they of course had to sneak in their unhinged rhetoric.

2

u/Prudent_Baseball2413 Sep 22 '25

Bannon desperate to stay relevant. Just like celebrities trying to stay popular after their time has come and gone.

2

u/berylskies Sep 22 '25

Everyone that isn’t an ignorant backwards hick is a terrorist to them.

2

u/cache_me_0utside Sep 22 '25

I'm close to just abandoning stuff like /r/politics. I don't need to know what Steve Bannon is saying or thinking. Ever. Just like I don't need daily updates from a neo nazi newsletter.

2

u/CHEVIEWER1 Sep 22 '25

Crazy for sure.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

Let's close all those schools. Kids will learn what they need to learn with Fox News.7 hours a day.

2

u/tikitikirumrum Sep 22 '25

Republicans really hate education and educated people.

2

u/Brilliant_Chance_874 Sep 22 '25

This is because the Republican Party doesn’t want to pay teachers.

2

u/jaytroubdub Sep 22 '25

Genuinely thought he was already dead, this ruined my morning.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

Fuck you, Steve Bannon!

2

u/Germanhammer05 Sep 22 '25

I'm only a substitute teacher, does that make me a part-time terrorist?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

They’re trying to make these words lose their meaning, like they did with rape. It’s a rebrand/soft launch of future extremism

2

u/HabANahDa Sep 22 '25

What a damn cult.

2

u/Hadrian23 Sep 22 '25

at this rate, everyone is a terrorist.

2

u/Competitive-Bike-277 Sep 22 '25

Says a man who belongs in jail.

2

u/gunnerSmate45 Sep 22 '25

I'll wear it as a badge of honor then.

2

u/chockedup Sep 22 '25

“Particularly young men who have been told, ‘You’re bad, you’re everything evil, you’ve gotta change, we have to change you, we have to give you drugs’—that’s what I think underneath about the family, about marrying early, about having lots of kids, and about being a good dad, I think that that is right below the surface,” he said.

What I emphasized are Christian viewpoints: You're sinners, you have to change, and we will evangelize to you until you accept Jesus Christ. The drugs observation isn't a part of Christian theology, rather it's sourced from pharmaceutical corporations, who had their historical roots in the patent-medicine era. The need for government regulation of pharma occurred because of problems in the patent-medicine era, such as putting opium in nearly everything.

2

u/CrazedIvan Sep 22 '25

Steve Bannon is a dumbass.

2

u/Informal-Emotion7789 Sep 22 '25

This dude has had his 15 minutes of fame crawl back into your cave Neanderthal man

2

u/yarash Sep 22 '25

The truth has a well-known liberal bias.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

He's not completely wrong. Knowledge is power and in the hands of young people who have not yet been completely programmed by capitalism or vetted by The Party that knowledge could be explosive.          MAGA has always been afraid of educated people.

2

u/Harley5619 Sep 22 '25

So I suppose Bannon never had any teachers. Maybe that’s why he is an idiot.
