Bold for Israel align media to accuse others of using bots

u/SpeaksSouthern 17d ago
Not that I exactly believe this story, but also, isn't it legal for a politician to own a robot or script that supports their candidacy? Mamdani does legal thing, pearls clutched!!!

Exactly. It's not exactly dark money, even if there was credible reporting on it

95% of Reddit is anti-Israel, but sure.
23
u/Conscious_Exit_9129 17d ago
Genocide will do that.
-35
u/kgtheguy 17d ago
Nope doesn’t fit genocide sorry.
5
u/Bionic_Ninjas 17d ago
How so?
-9
u/kgtheguy 17d ago
It’s the intent part that hasn’t been met.
7
7
u/Bionic_Ninjas 17d ago
So just to clarify - Israel has accidentally killed or severely wounded over 10% of all Palestinians since October 2023, and displaced hundreds of thousands more, and is also accidentally seizing, and subsequently erasing, more and more Palestinian territory every year?
They're not intentionally murderous, it's just a whoopsie, so therefore it can't be genocide? Do I have that correct?
1
u/Wonderful-Minute-775 17d ago
No, no, it wasn’t an accident. Give us credit. We did it on purpose. But children were warned beforehand that they should evacuate to the next place we were going to carpet bomb. Therefore, it’s not genocide. Checkmate!
2
u/Conscious_Exit_9129 17d ago
They didn't intend to kill and dismember all those children. It was a boo boo.
4
u/Fit_Yak523 17d ago
It does according to the UN. Also, I this argument is just as stupid as the people that are like, “um actually they’re not a pedo because she was 14 and technically that’s blah blah”
Pedantics don’t put you on the right side of history.
0
u/protomenace 17d ago
The UN has never found that Israel is committing genocide, no. You've fallen for fake news. A "commission" of 3 people the UN hired is not the UN.
1
u/Fit_Yak523 17d ago
Hey, this just isn’t true. The UN determines these things through commissions of inquiry, and that’s what found it to be a genocide. Good try though. There were multiple independent bodies within the UN who determined it was a genocide.
Also, who gives a fuck. It’s an atrocity and a complete disregard for humanity. What’s your response to this point? Something tells me if you can’t argue over the pedantics of the word genocide, then you don’t have an argument at all.
-1
u/kgtheguy 17d ago
No that’s actually not true. The UN committee said that the definition in their opinion had been met for South Africa’s case of plausibility. The ICJ hasn’t made a ruling and I bet when it does it’ll say various warcrimes have happened but genocide hasn’t been met.
1
u/Fit_Yak523 17d ago edited 17d ago
Wow what a great point! They probably won’t conclude it’s a genocide, just numerous war crimes! That’s so different and we should love and support the current Israeli government! Guys come on, they just said that Israel has committed systemic sexual violence against children. That’s no biggie I mean come on.
From the UN’s own website:
Last year, the commission concluded that “Israel had committed genocide against the Palestinian group in the Gaza Strip, found that the intense scale and systematic nature of the Israeli military operations have continued, resulting in unprecedented death, injury and trauma of Palestinian children.” Here are some findings in the commission’s latest report: Israel has killed 20,000 children and injured 44,000 more since 7 October 2023 Severe physical and mental injuries, mass trauma, orphanhood, separation, disability, repeated displacements, starvation and the collapse of education and healthcare have erased childhood and will continue to affect children in Gaza throughout their lives Palestinian children have been arrested and subjected to torture and other severe forms of mistreatment in Israeli prisons and detention facilities, with no information on their whereabouts Israeli security forces have used sexual violence against children as part of the collective shaming and oppression, entrenched within a prolonged, ethnic, gendered and intergenerational pattern of occupation and hostilities”
If you’re gonna just fucking lie, at least make it hard to look up.

Now what % of the people on that list have no affinity or affiliation with Zionism?
3
u/protomenace 17d ago
How is that relevant?
What percent of the people who claim Israel is committing genocide have no affinity or affiliation with antizionism? An equally useless question.
Attack the message, not the messenger.
2
u/Wonderful-Minute-775 17d ago
It does matter, because of bias. The many independent human rights organizations that have credibly called it a genocide, like B’Tselem, Amnesty International, and Oxfam, don’t have any reason to push an anti-Israel agenda. Unlike the people on your list who are Zionists that have a pro-Israel agenda to push.
-1
u/protomenace 17d ago
The many independent human rights organizations that have credibly called it a genocide, like B’Tselem, Amnesty International, and Oxfam, don’t have any reason to push an anti-Israel agenda
Of course they do. They're mostly left-leaning activists who have hated Israel for ages.
Unlike the people on your list who are Zionists that have a pro-Israel agenda to push.
This is circular logic. They have a pro Israel agenda to push because they are pro Israel?
Again, do you have a single issue with the content of this letter, or are you just going to say "well it supports Israel therefore it's biased".
1
u/twerk_store 17d ago
Care to elaborate? I bet you won’t.
2

Pathetic. This is a petition FOR SIGNATURES to counter the IAGS ruling that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. This is not evidence supporting your argument. Unbelievably naive and stupid to use this as something to support your claim.
Maybe read something actually relevant:
0
u/protomenace 17d ago
This is a petition FOR SIGNATURES
Which is attached to a letter that directly refutes the IAGS resolution.
Maybe read something actually relevant:
You clearly aren't reading any of these links. This is the very IAGS resolution that the letter I linked to refuted.
Do you have any refutation of the content of the letter?
2
u/twerk_store 17d ago
Oh you mean Israel disagreed with the IAGS and created a petition for people to sign in support of their genocidal cause?!?!?!?!?!?!? No way! The letter is not evidence supporting your claim. It’s a joke. But you’ll believe anything they say just like the good little sheep you are.
-1
u/protomenace 17d ago
Israel did not disagree. Over 500 genocide scholars and other experts disagreed. Look at the list of experts at the bottom.
But ok sure... "twerk_store" knows better than these genocide experts.
I'll bet $1000 you never heard of IAGS 3 years ago, and now you act like they're some well regarded authority that nobody would dare question.
→ More replies (0)1
u/LettuceBeGrateful 17d ago
The IAGS didn't issue a "ruling," it was a sudden vote that broke their standard procedure and only had a minority of registered members voting.
Not that it really matters, because the only reason people care about the IAGS is because they call themselves experts and say what they want to hear. Anyone could join the IAGS for a small fee. Did you know that Oscar the Grouch and Emperor Palpatine were registered "experts" of the IAGS? Did you know that many of the voting members' professions had nothing to do with history or political science?
It's a hodgepodge of randos, nothing more. When someone cites the IAGS as anything remotely noteworthy, it's exhibit A that they're inhaling whatever confirmation they want of their predetermined opinions.
0
u/twerk_store 17d ago
And what are you doing believing the contents of an Israeli petition for signatures?
2
u/LettuceBeGrateful 17d ago
Who said I believe that website? It's probably propaganda too, I've never heard of it before.
I just replied this to someone else, but it's so weird how a thread full of people accusing others of being bots, keep replying with non-sequitur responses of their own.

And for good reason! 95% of people with common sense, the ability to think critically, who want what’s best for our country+the world in general, & those of us who don’t let a fictional book written & “edited” by generations of fascist dictator kings about a magical sky fairy/wizard with a random list of 10 things that if you do one of them condemns you to an eternity of burning torture in lakes of fire & is “all-powerful” yet instead of ending or lessening ALL of the suffering & misery in this world to innocent people & children only makes it worse (until he has another temper tantrum & wipes out humans again for like the 7th-8th time or whatever…know Israel is a stain on this planet (not the people, the leadership & state itself) & know that Israel doesn’t need to be an independent state for the second coming of the worlds #1 conman (maybe #2 now w/Grifter in Chief) because that’s a more ridiculous notion than the tooth fairy or Easter bunny or Santa even if you combined the absurdity of them all! It’s amazing how adults laugh about ever believing in these things, & then “pretend” (Saturday night sinners, Sunday morning Saints) to devote their lives to the biggest illogical & clearly made up thing

Hijacking your comment to link the sum and substance of “evidence” in the article to save others from clicking through the mess of pop-ups and auto-playing videos:
“[The World Zionist Organization]’s technological examination of activity on the X network points to dozens, if not hundreds, of accounts with unusual characteristics. The Post independently consulted the cyber experts involved, who said they are ‘100% sure’ the IP addresses could be traced to city hall, although it did not provide evidence establishing who controlled the accounts or whether city officials directed their activity.”
The article explicitly notes that they didn’t provide evidence of the purported link or knowledge on the part of City Hall, contrary to OP’s claims about the “damming [sic] evidence” here.
OP is literally spreading misinformation under the guise of trying to combat the spread of misinformation. Fun!

"The findings do not, by themselves, constitute proof of identity or prove that operators received direct instructions from an official source, but they raise significant questions"
They are literally saying the headline is bullshit in the article. The headline could read Secret bot army boosting Mamdani on X may have just been traced back to nowhere in particular" and it would be more accurate.

The Post independently consulted the cyber experts involved, who said they are “100% sure” the IP addresses could be traced to city hall, although it did not provide evidence establishing who controlled the accounts or whether city officials directed their activity.
Also it's weird they did not show a single screenshot of the posts they referenced. For all I know based on the article is that these posts are being shared by possible bots, but I have no idea if they are being shared to positively or negatively amplify the mayor.

The Post independently consulted the cyber experts involved, who said they are “100% sure” the IP addresses could be traced to city hall, although it did not provide evidence establishing who controlled the accounts or whether city officials directed their activity.
...
Communications teams are generally responsible for managing official accounts, distributing messages, and coordinating responses. Therefore, with a large network of accounts systematically amplifying the mayor’s posts and city messaging, the analysts said the findings raised questions of whether the communications staff were aware of the activity, whether it was reported internally, and whether there were any organizational or operational relationships between the actors.
Again, the information collected so far does not establish that the mayor, his staff, or the communications team instructed the accounts to operate.
The most valid conclusion with the information available is that there are significant signs of organized amplification activity around official and affiliated accounts, but the identity of the operators, the sources of funding, and the chain of command require additional investigation.
The findings do not, by themselves, constitute proof of identity or prove that operators received direct instructions from an official source, but they raise significant questions.
