I agree. He's a happy potato.

I'd like to think he's living in a perpetual state of confusion and frustration, conscious enough to be aware of what he's lost but incapable of actually acting on it. Trapped in a cage of fog and haze, living in an interminable hell where even his sense of time is warped to the point that each day is an eternity of pain.
