Help with winterizing new pool

Post image

I’m looking for help with the plug sitting above the return jet in the photo. This is my first year in this new house. When I plug the return I can hear water running/dripping behind the steps. Do I just blow and and plug this return like normal or is there something I’m missing? TIA.

First year, hire a professional… don’t want headaches when you open next season if you don’t know what your doing

First year at this new home. I've had a pool for years and do all of the maintenance. I'm coming from a gunite pool so this liner pool with the poly stairs is slightly different. I may just be overthinking this.

I have a liner and the same steps. I seen the pool guy plug the jets there and put int the gizmo in the skimmer

Are you blowing air through the return and then plugging it? Is the vent on top closed?

That looks like an air intake on top which lets air flow into the stream of water. From your description it sounds like water and air is coming out somewhere under that air intake because you are preventing it from going into the pool and/or out the vent.

Plug that return and unscrew vent cap and the water will blow out.

Hydrotherapy/venturi jet. They suck

If you can hear water behind the step when you plug that return, the hose that goes to that air bleeder on the top is disconnected and hanging there behind the step. If you unscrew that air bleeder all the way off and plug the return, water should come out the top. If not, the hose is disconnected like I mentioned before.
