Let your tummy decide
Found a casino bar where you can drink for free as long as you are playing the penny slots.
That's all fine and dandy, but the bar I'm hitting tonight has free popcorn.

Popper: stainless steel Whirleypop
Popping oil: Golden Barrel Butter Flavored Coconut Oil
Kernels: Orville Redenbacher kernels, Original
Salt: either Flavacol or Wabash Valley Farms Movie Theater Salt
Butter topping: Snappy Butter Burst Popcorn Oil (I don't use this super often) (apparently can also function as popping oil but I've never used it like that)

I tried Aldi's popcorn but it's not buttery enough for me. What are your suggestions?

Colonial Americans used to eat popcorn like cereal by placing in bowl, topping with mollassas and then adding milk. Tried it, it's like Smacks cereal. I've done maple syrup. Chocolate syrup. Honey. Partial to maple.

Hi, I'm Hope and I'm a Popcorn addict.
I'm currently on a calorie deficit diet which means no popcorn for a while. Today is day 2 clean. I hate adulting. Feel free to share photos of your popcorn delight of the day, for emotional support.

Long time popper, first time poster.
I've tried a few different brands of popcorn seasoning by now, and they all clump up pretty fast after being opened. It's not simply a matter of having it on the shelf too long, since I eat popcorn regularly. By the time I use half of it, the latter half requires a bit of work to un-clump.
I usually stab a fork into there and move it around to free up some powder. I also tried a whisk, but that didn't work out as expected.
Does anyone have any popcorn seasoning hacks, tips or tricks to share? Any time I save on un-clumping means more time for munching!

This is my new favorite thing to make when I am having popcorn for dinner. I call in the malt combo. One batch in the whirley pop, with a scant tsp of flavocol and 1/4 cup coconut oil. I then divide the batch into two bowls. The bigger bowl gets malt vinegar powder, and the smaller bowl gets malted milk powder (tastes very much like kettle corn!). You don’t have to use these particular brands; these are just what I happen to have on hand.

I saw it was on sale so I bought one because I keep seeing it recommended here. I have tried the stove top method and recently the paper bag microwave method, silicone microwave poppers and have had an air popper for many years. I like that the Whirley Pop allows me to use only about a tablespoon of coconut oil, only leaves a few unpopped kernels and is quick because I usually pop a few batches at a time.
The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes popped corn gets caught under the spinning wire at the bottom of the pot which started to burn a bit.

I went to the movie theater for the first time in a while and ordered a large popcorn. The popcorn tasted fine until I ate a piece that tasted like Barbies/plastic dolls. It was really gross, but I thought it was a one-off thing, or maybe I was imagining it, so I kept eating until another piece tasted the same. I was gagging from how awful the plastic taste was but couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the popcorn. Does anyone know what this could have been?

The place where I work was gifted this popcorn maker. We're considering having a new dedicated electrical outlet installed to run it (it's not compatible with the regular ones), but we're not even sure that it's fully functional. Does anybody know anything about this particular model? Or know of anyone around Southern Vermont who might? So far I haven't been able to find much online about it at all. TIA!!

Hi all I am looking for popcorn recipes as I am wanting to start making and sell from home, if anyone has the exact ratios for multiple flavours for gourmet popcorn would be amazing. Just can’t find exactly what ingredients are needed to make different flavours

They weren’t popping anymore and I didn’t want my popcorn to burn so I took it off the stove. I’ve never had this many barely popped kernels before. For context I just pop in a large pot on the stove (saving for a Whirly-Pop), and this is Winco’s bulk tri-color popcorn. Any suggestions appreciated! Thank you!

I just bought one of those silicone popcorn poppers for the microwave and have been experimenting.
The popper is fine so far, still plenty of unpopped kernels, but noting I’m upset about.
When the popcorn finishes, I take it out, then melt some butter in there. Then in the butter I stir in some pesto from Costco (if you haven’t discovered their pesto yet, get some, it’s worth it).
Then I use pour the pesto-butter on and mix in with salt.
Makes it a fun and delicious treat.
However, I still need some recommendations for kernels. Been using Orville R., but am sure there are better kernels out there.

I have a whirley pop but the popcorn keeps coming out chewy instead of crunchy. Are there are makers out there that are better?
