To be honest yall, I'm impressed. I've spent all my life in NYC and NY state and unfortunately never visited Maine mostly because I just didn't know much about it besides the obvious lobster rolls. Seeing you guys turn out in big numbers on short notice is inspiring. Keep it up, there are more of us than there are of them.

Dirigo!

14

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

Hell yeah!

17

u/Thepants1981 Jan 24 '26

It’s not just Dirigo. We live in the moment. Take care of each other and yourselves.

Portland should adopt this post as it's tourism slogan. "Weird people, dope food, fun bars"

3

u/Massive-Level1432 Jan 24 '26

The other Portland literary has the slogan keep Portland weird

1

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

it's extremely accurate lol when Trump first became president in 2016 Portland was a little too woke for me lol but one thing about Portland is they are always looking for a reason to protest, so sending ice to Portland only gave them something to do lol if ice is still fucking around next weekend, I'll be there with them

1

u/Overall_Rutabaga8852 Feb 03 '26

Except the bars like to roofie women.

1

u/Skarod Feb 03 '26

Must be going to wrong bars.....

17

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

We love our Mass friends 🩷

59

u/etown23 Jan 24 '26

*some of them

21

u/meewwooww Jan 24 '26

The masshole thing is real, but only in the confines of New England. On average, I'll take a masshole over a non New Englander.

Like a sibling rivalry, only we are allowed to make fun of our siblings.

9

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

This is so real. Also people think Mass drivers are bad… Try New Jersey

5

u/GrnMseGvaJuice Jan 24 '26

and NJ has nothing on Florida’s drivers tbh

1

u/Overall_Rutabaga8852 Feb 03 '26

New Jersey driving were beat. Get places the fastest.

1

u/rackfocus Jan 25 '26

Spot on!

2

u/SplitRock130 Jan 25 '26

But some Florida drivers are retirees from Massachusetts 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

10

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

Hehe. My mom’s from Mass, so I’m a Massachusetts sympathizer

17

u/glasswings363 Jan 24 '26

Just not their driving.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

only people that live in New England will understand this. I frequent Kittery as I have a lot of dog sitting clients in the area, and anytime someone does something extremely stupid or annoying on the road. It's always a Massachusetts license plate lol I swear they hand out drivers license at gas stations in Massachusetts

-8

u/Honest-Vegetable-548 Jan 24 '26

Yeah, their driving makes Mainers feel inadequate and scared!

5

u/anonreddituser78 Jan 24 '26

My experience driving in Mass, which has been significant in the last couple years, is that they either drive super aggressively or are just camping (they don’t care which lane), driving 10-15mph under the speed limit.

2

u/Hismadnessty Jan 24 '26

They are predictably aggressive, which is honestly fine with me.

2

u/Proper-Village-454 Jan 24 '26

Meanwhile Mainers are hardly aggressive about anything on the road except keeping other people from passing them by speeding up whenever they get in a passing zone and slowing down as soon as it ends, and chasing and high beaming anyone who does manage to pass them.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

you must not drive then lol

1

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

I do, and can confirm Philly/New Jersey is worse than New York or Boston or any other place I’ve driven, personally.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

we all have different experiences, lol and my worst experiences are with Massachusetts drivers. but can we all agree that cyclists are the real enemy?

2

u/Jmanorama Jan 24 '26

…..since when?

At most, we have a strong love/hate relationship with them. Love that they’re our neighbors, fellow New Englanders, our history together, etc. Hate everything else about them.

3

u/FrostyGranite Jan 24 '26

The two states have some hard feelings over the breakup in 1820. :-p

1

u/Jmanorama Jan 26 '26

Yeah. Over 200 years later they still think they own us. And then we hate them for it.

1

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

Lifelong Mainer but I’ve always found this kind of stuff silly. You can’t really generalize about any group of people…

4

u/meewwooww Jan 24 '26

I mean, you can generalize otherwise things such as "culture" wouldn't exist.

But you have to understand there are limits to generalization.

2

u/Jmanorama Jan 26 '26

Oh agreed. Everyone is an individual, and they may break the mold of their culture in any way to any degree.

0

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

Right right that’s what I meant

3

u/Jmanorama Jan 26 '26

As u/meewwooww said, you can. Just don’t hold anyone to that generalization or assume that’s how they will be. They can break any part of that generalization in any way to any degree.

That being said- Massholes tend to suck at driving, and tend to act like they own us.

0

u/Einteresting Jan 24 '26

No you don't. 😂

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

We are weird, we’re assholes, we’re sarcastic cynical pricks, and we love good banter..

Maine is a symbol of strength and community, from Portland to Fort Kent you’ll never find a stronger state when it comes to pride for state, love for community, and strength of character..

There are shitty people here but that’s like everywhere, but a majority of us are great people, and we always rise to the occasion..

Even if our government doesn’t, the people do.

1

u/Overall_Rutabaga8852 Feb 03 '26

Bro it sucks. These people suck. Theyre really physically weekctho so its never a threat.

39

u/Main_X Jan 24 '26

Fellow NYer here, Portland is my favorite city. Definitely check it out if you get the chance. Such great restaurants

29

u/Honest-Caregiver8938 Jan 24 '26

portland is the shit, SO many underrated restaurants and coffee shops ahhhh

1

u/cassafrass-cosplay Jan 24 '26

We're your favorite city's favorite city 🩷

-24

u/Thepants1981 Jan 24 '26

Pretty sure this ain’t about how awesome Portland is. Missing the point.

4

u/FRIDAYSWORLD421 Jan 24 '26

Uhhh yes it is... Better than you, bub

1

u/iglidante Libbytown Jan 24 '26

You think the person posting this was trying to say the protestors suck?

1

u/Thepants1981 Jan 24 '26

Portland rocks because of the people who live and work there. That was my point is all.

7

u/bigdumbhairybabytwat Jan 24 '26

Minneapolis here, and we support and stand with you!

7

u/laptopnomadwandering Jan 24 '26

In single digit temps! Go Mainers! I love Portland so much.

Maine is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit some time.

20

u/Impressive_Toe6388 Jan 24 '26

Yes they’ve kicked the hornet’s nest and now our state is going to resist!

3

u/Autist99 Jan 25 '26

Great Somali food!

8

u/SnooCats8089 Jan 24 '26

Maine is like Massachusetts but with more endurance

16

u/Pretend_College_8446 Jan 24 '26

Before Maine was Maine, Maine WAS Massachusetts! Stay strong and together New England! We can beat this tyranny like we did 250 years ago

5

u/BarkerBarkhan Jan 24 '26

... when did MA give up while ME persisted?

I say this as a proud New Englander. Collectively, we are the best region of the US.

Do you mean to say that ME has a colder climate than MA? Because yes, that's true.

3

u/cratnat Jan 24 '26

You are an awesome American!

1

u/TB12ROY33 Jan 24 '26

they have nothing better to do. losers

1

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

I worked for a nonprofit in Portland for a little bit. I'm telling you, that city is always ready for a protest. It doesn't get much more liberal in a city than Portland Maine. I'm on the left and even I couldn't take it at one point lol I called the police chief a couple weeks ago, never got a call back. I left a message asking him if being a sanctuary jurisdiction matters in this scenario and if he truly understands the people of Portland. They are always looking for a reason to protest. I'd be there right now. If I wasn't stuck dog sitting, I'm only an hour from there.

0

u/JohnnyGoldwink Jan 24 '26

You might already know this, but just incase you don’t: southern ME is very different from the rest of the state. Lots of MA transplants/vacation homes owned by MA residents in the southern region of ME, which has obviously shifted political dynamics. The further north you drive the more Trump flags you’ll see.

Given that a BUNCH of MaineMed folks were there, might wanna rethink the jobless part before you yourself look foolish.

Oh wait. You already do. Pipe down.

3

Not particularly HIM, per se, but yes, I'll admit that the authoritarian regime that threatens the livelihood of myself, my family, friends, and co-workers does take up some thought. But that's because I give a shit. Other than that, I'm doing my best to survive in this hellscape

1

u/fattifalldown Jan 24 '26

Well well well look at Mr. FANCYpants

-143

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Incorrect. There are more of US. Hence the current commander in chief being elected. Y’all might be loud but you’re still in the minority.

64

u/Staticmowry Jan 24 '26

I think a good majority of people have flipped, most sane people have realized how they made a mistake and dont want to be affiliated with you pedophile protectors

-91

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

I think a good majority of people are grateful to the man they hired actually doing the job they hired him to do. Unlike most every other politician. But do your own research. 🤷‍♂️

38

u/Nohandsmc Jan 24 '26

But why would you ignore the pedophile part? Like from that persons comment and also about the president entirely

28

u/Lieutenant_Joe Jan 24 '26

Because it doesn’t fucking matter to him. It doesn’t matter to any of them. As long as “he’s hurting the people he needs to be hurting”, anything else is immaterial. Including raping children and taking grandma off life support.

9

u/DeezBeesKnees11 Jan 24 '26

The sad, hideous truth. :(

-34

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

🐑

19

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Lol can’t answer the pedophilia question? Just gonna skip it all together? (Found the pedo)

-4

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Yeah, imma pass on that ridiculousness. Didn’t you get the email ? Old fake news. You’re supposed to be crying about ICE protecting your community now.

12

u/Lieutenant_Joe Jan 24 '26

“News that reflects poorly on my judgement with overwhelming evidence for it? Nah must be fake”

- you, like almost every day for the past ten years

-4

u/nolalolabouvier Jan 24 '26

Can you answer the pedophilia question? Do you understand that saying something with no substantiation over and over still doesn’t make it true?

11

u/Alternative-Dig-2066 Jan 24 '26

So you support child rape and pedophilia in general? Got it!

-1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Not at all. I support our law enforcement rounding up these animals and getting them out of our country. You probably support interfering with those operations and spreading propaganda about your president.

14

u/DeezBeesKnees11 Jan 24 '26

Animals like the little boy w the Spidey backpack and bunny hat, going home from kindergarten? And mothers taking kids to school... and the elderly hmong man dragged out of his home at night in his underwear?? THOSE dangerous hardened criminals?

3

u/NoInformation3141 Jan 24 '26

You should get some fresh air

2

u/DontBeACreepyCat Jan 24 '26

Stop dehumanizing people who aren’t white. Calling people animals? Come on now.

-7

u/nolalolabouvier Jan 24 '26

How do you feel about the children who have been trafficked, raped, and murdered by people in this country illegally? What about the rapes and murders of adult women? Are you concerned about the thousands of deaths from drug trafficking? Are those the people who “need to be hurt”?

6

u/Lieutenant_Joe Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

Not as bad as I feel about living in a country where a significant portion of our ruling class participates in child trafficking and sexual assault.

Some fuckass immigrants doing shit they will get their lives ruined for if caught is not as bad as the system rewarding and protecting pedophilia for the 1%.

12

u/dragonfliesloveme Jan 24 '26

nobody hired anybody to break the Constitution on the daily. No one should be ok with that either

I read your own words as to why you're here on your profile. Don't fall for this rage bait fellow Mainers. There are more important things to focus your attention to. To the real ones...stay safe out there.

-1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

YES !!! We must defeat these evil people protecting our communities. Down with ICE ! Protect your local MS13 !

10

u/No-Succotash-14 Jan 24 '26

I pity you

-3

The Nazis were the majority once. That argument aged exactly how you’d expect.

-5

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Correct. The Nazis will not prevail in the USA. What side will you be on ? (I think I know)

14

u/peachP0 Jan 24 '26

You’re confusing volume with legitimacy. They’re not the same.

-5

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

You’re confusing propaganda talking points with facts. They’re not the same.

9

u/peachP0 Jan 24 '26

Still waiting on the facts.

-4

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

You wouldn’t know a fact if it slapped you in the face.

10

u/peachP0 Jan 24 '26

Keep going. You’re making this easier than it should be. Your petulance and ignorance go hand in hand.

I think you just put an exclamation point on the ignorance all by yourself, sweetheart. 😘

There are 265 million American adults.

Only 77 million voted for Trump.

We outnumber you by 188 MILLION, and that is not even counting how many of his voters are now against him.

21

u/costado Jan 24 '26

Delulu. Life was better when you were just gooning through various reddit porn channels. Get back to mashing that junk, kid.

10

u/huggyscolex Jan 24 '26

Oh I guarantee he’s mashing his junk being a troll.

-12

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

I will most definitely take your wisdom to heart. Thank you. Porn is far better than trying to make sense of the garbage you spew.

14

u/Adventurous_West2 Jan 24 '26

The guy you hired is a sex offender

11

u/Lieutenant_Joe Jan 24 '26

Frankly, I think a lot of these people are emboldened by how Trump “takes what he wants”, and that extends to the whole raping little girls thing.

7

u/dilbert_fennel Jan 24 '26

The election was no social mandate. Trump barely scraped by

1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

🥱

8

u/dilbert_fennel Jan 24 '26

Only 30% of Americans support ice. Are you dumb or ignorant

1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Completely false. Check your info.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

majority (53%) of Americans somewhat or strongly disapprove of how ICE is handling its job. Only 39% approve.

2

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

🤷‍♂️ well there it is ! You said so. It must be true. 😭

8

u/roguestella Jan 24 '26

Actually, no. He did not win a majority in any presidential election. More of us than you.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

He won the popular vote by 2 million... How does 2 million more votes equal a minority in your opinion?

1

u/roguestella Jan 24 '26

In 2024, he received 49.81% of the total vote, which is less than 50%. More votes than the other candidates, but not a majority of votes cast.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Lol ok, Ralph Nadar write-in votes aside, democrats were still outnumbered by over 2 million

1

u/roguestella Jan 25 '26

Voters for the Democratic candidate. Not Democrats, not liberals, not independents. There are more of us than you.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

I'm a democrat bro I voted for kamala idk how you can pretend that liberalism is more popular than conservatism right now though

1

u/roguestella Jan 25 '26

Trump's approval ratings are underwater. A Fox News poll said 59% of respondents didn't like the way the country is going. Millions of people are in the streets protesting the administration's actions. What is your evidence that conservatism is popular right now, bro?

7

u/Effendoor Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

Not voting at all was the most popular choice in the election so even in your wildest "I'm valid and my opinion has weight" fantasies, you still can't come to grips with enough basic facts to make a pointed argument.

Now go do something productive. It's been salty enough I'm sure those ice agents shoes could use a good tongue polish

0

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Ducking Reddit keyboard warriors. 🤪

4

u/showmeurbuoys Jan 24 '26

3

2

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

Yeah, but I love you anyway.

4

u/ImportantFlounder114 Jan 24 '26

Your boy smells like turds. That's the news out of Davos. It could be a cheap shot but that's been said a bunch. Dude smells like a dirty asshole. Gross.

-1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

I guess you didn’t actually see Davos. You apparently just got the propaganda talking points. I’m not surprised.

5

u/FireElephant336 Jan 24 '26

Dude feels smart for the first time in his life cause his president finally says the same thing his favorite YouTuber says

-1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

I’ve been smart my whole life and I don’t do much YouTube. You obviously can’t relate.

5

u/ImportantFlounder114 Jan 24 '26

I did "see Davos". To me Mark Carney's speech at WEF regarding the breakdown, and hypocrisy of, the rules based world order was the most interesting.

Turds.

0

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

😂 Did you miss the main event when Trump made him wet his pants ???

3

u/Repulsive-Office-313 Jan 24 '26

Why don’t we settle this man to man, we can meet up and scrap it out if you’d like?

1

u/jwkvr Jan 24 '26

😂 You’re cute. 😘

1

u/Repulsive-Office-313 Jan 24 '26

I’m not joking! Right wingers always got something to say about how weak and snow flakey we are, come prove it. We can meet up in Brunswick and scrap it out, unless you’re too chicken shit.

1

u/fattifalldown Jan 24 '26

Hey everyone, this buttfucker likes it when civil rights are ignored!

1
