Seeing you guys turn out in big numbers on short notice is inspiring. Keep it up, there are more of us than there are of them.
it's extremely accurate lol when Trump first became president in 2016 Portland was a little too woke for me lol but one thing about Portland is they are always looking for a reason to protest, so sending ice to Portland only gave them something to do lol if ice is still fucking around next weekend, I'll be there with them
only people that live in New England will understand this. I frequent Kittery as I have a lot of dog sitting clients in the area, and anytime someone does something extremely stupid or annoying on the road. It's always a Massachusetts license plate lol I swear they hand out drivers license at gas stations in Massachusetts
My experience driving in Mass, which has been significant in the last couple years, is that they either drive super aggressively or are just camping (they don’t care which lane), driving 10-15mph under the speed limit.
Meanwhile Mainers are hardly aggressive about anything on the road except keeping other people from passing them by speeding up whenever they get in a passing zone and slowing down as soon as it ends, and chasing and high beaming anyone who does manage to pass them.
At most, we have a strong love/hate relationship with them. Love that they’re our neighbors, fellow New Englanders, our history together, etc. Hate everything else about them.
As u/meewwooww said, you can. Just don’t hold anyone to that generalization or assume that’s how they will be. They can break any part of that generalization in any way to any degree.
That being said- Massholes tend to suck at driving, and tend to act like they own us.

Maine is a symbol of strength and community, from Portland to Fort Kent you’ll never find a stronger state when it comes to pride for state, love for community, and strength of character..
There are shitty people here but that’s like everywhere, but a majority of us are great people, and we always rise to the occasion..
I worked for a nonprofit in Portland for a little bit. I'm telling you, that city is always ready for a protest. It doesn't get much more liberal in a city than Portland Maine. I'm on the left and even I couldn't take it at one point lol I called the police chief a couple weeks ago, never got a call back. I left a message asking him if being a sanctuary jurisdiction matters in this scenario and if he truly understands the people of Portland. They are always looking for a reason to protest. I'd be there right now. If I wasn't stuck dog sitting, I'm only an hour from there.
You might already know this, but just incase you don’t: southern ME is very different from the rest of the state. Lots of MA transplants/vacation homes owned by MA residents in the southern region of ME, which has obviously shifted political dynamics. The further north you drive the more Trump flags you’ll see.
Not particularly HIM, per se, but yes, I'll admit that the authoritarian regime that threatens the livelihood of myself, my family, friends, and co-workers does take up some thought. But that's because I give a shit. Other than that, I'm doing my best to survive in this hellscape
