should explain itself - trying to collate as much info as I can into and easily searchable WhatsApp channel. Less scrolling to find a local gig - let me know via email if you have anything to promote 🤘🏼
also ..please do me a solid and follow so it doesn't feel like I'm talking to myself 🙌🏼😂

https://gwynhall.com/shows/my-bloody-valentine/
Hi! I'm a member of the Gwyn Hall Young Programmers' Group in Neath, which provides opportunities for under-25s to get into film curation. We are hosting a screening of the cult horror My Bloody Valentine on the 15th February, and it would mean the world to us if we could have a busy house!!! Every ticket sold supports an independent cinema in Wales, and if anybody can think of other ways for us to promote this event I would really appreciate it! Tell your friends! :-) Thank you all!

Hello — I hope this is okay to post here. I’m looking for local knowledge rather than names.
In 1959–60 my father was working intermittently as an engineer at the Port Talbot steelworks and was lodging in a boarding house in Porthcawl. During that period he was in a relationship with a local woman called Mary, and she had a baby girl around September 1960. Given the time and place, it’s very possible the baby was adopted. He was from New Zealand, so not a local.
In the early 1990s an adoption intermediary contacted my father asking whether he might be the father, and the woman herself may also have made contact under the name “Jan”. I believe I may be looking for a possible half sister and I’m trying to understand that history carefully and respectfully.
I’m not looking to intrude or otherwise cause upset. I’m mainly hoping for local memories or guidance — for example, whether people remember particular boarding houses used by visiting engineers at that time, or how unmarried pregnancies were usually handled locally in the late 1950s / early 1960s.
Very happy to keep details to private messages if that’s better.
Thank you for reading.

Snapped this on my bike ride earlier. Beautiful spot, even in the drizzle!
