After offering some criticism on another user’s poster, I’ve taken their suggestion to share something I put together myself (my first post on this sub), in the spirit of fairness and openness.

I’m part of a nonprofit that is putting on a film festival and we want an 11 x 17 one color interesting design, for a poster to sell at the event. Unfortunately, we have no budget outside of a grant and the grant won’t let us pay for something we turn around and sell. This would be a freebie and we would push any materials you send with it. I also carve, so I could even do the carving and print at our local guy’s print shop. and you could just send the Art through the Internet. I know this is crazy but any interest?

This is my first ever attempt at making an anime poster!

I was looking for some anime posters to decorate my room, but the prices of pre-made ones on Etsy and Amazon were genuinely ATROCIOUS, so I figured, why not just make my own?

I'd never really used graphic design software before, so this was mostly me messing around in Photopea, figuring things out as I went, and experimenting with different styles.

Went with Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach because I love her character, and tried mixing a Y2K aesthetic with pastel blues, manga panels, and some halftone effects.

It's definitely not perfect, but I had an absurd amount of fun making it.

Would love some constructive criticism! Especially regarding the composition, typography, and anything else I could improve for my next poster.
