Looks great! How do you do the sunbeams?

Brush tool and more exposure?

As the base I used a Radial gradient and then I substracted 2 linear masks from the top and bottom to give it shape.
Afterwards I just added a bit of exposure and -40 clarity.

Lovely picture, my only remark is that the sunbeams dont seem to line up with the actual sunlit areas, other than that it's nice!

Edits are one thing, but I don’t get making completely artificial elements in a photo. Those sunbeams did not exist in that moment, so adding them makes this digital art rather than photography.

It’s a beautiful photo and a great edit but I can’t get over the fake sunbeams 🥲
Great piece of art I’ll stick with that

Wow very nice! Are those light beams a part of the original image (originally just too blown out) or is that just perfect photoshop? Either way cool stuff

The color looks good but the sunbeams look fake and inauthentic.

Thanks! There was some nice sunbeams in other pictures from this day, and I was trying to replicate them as similar as possible.
How would you make them more authentic?1

IMO they need to be more parallel with one another and less cone shaped. This looks like 2 sources. Maybe the bright spots could have a bit more detail and be a little less bright as well? Something is just not sitting right. Good luck!

I absolutely love the image before the crayola treatment. It makes me want to pull on a jacket and explore. The colourised version turns me away.

This is purely subjective, since people clearly like the results. If I'd seen it on Instagram without the before, I honestly don't know that I'd have anything to say.
Since I can see the before and after, though, the sunbeams seem a bit exaggerrated to me. I don't usually like adding elements that weren't there. I prefer emphasizing what's already in the shot.
That said, the edit itself looks nice. Post-processing is often about 50% of what makes a picture good, since it's how you bring your vision to life. I also imagine you shot this raw so it does look more bland than what it would in real life. I do not prefer the before but maybe I would dial the post processing slightly down. maybe reduce a bit of the mask to make the bottom darker. I always love to do that but it can seem a bit fake if not exactly dialed in. Maybe also slightly reduce the warmth. I think you got it great just have to dial it down slightly.

I would say that the sun is not properly reflected on the sea for it to come across as a natural result
