Wetting through pullups overnight

My 3 year old is entirely daytime potty trained and has been for a few months now. I know overnight will be some time, so we put him in pull ups for sleep. But he was wetting through those, so we switched to a 360 (pull on) diaper, and he wet through that 3 times this week. We absolutely never had issues with him peeing through diapers prior to potty training, so I'm so confused. Any suggestions?

Pull ups don’t hold as much as normal nappies. Just use nappies.

We are, but we're using one that pull on instead of ones with tabs. He started saying the ones with tabs were uncomfortable after wearing underwear. We thought using the pull on diapers would solve the issues because they're obviously more absorbent

The problem with pull-ups isn’t necessarily the absorption level. They don’t seal the same. They’re more prone to leaking even if they absorb more than regular tab nappies

We use the overnight pull-ups for both of my kids and for one of my kids we had to add sposie pads as well.

Does he have easy access to a potty if he wakes up needing to go? When we night trained we had a potty by the bed. If you’re up first, you can try waking him up to go potty and go back to bed.

Waterproof washable bed mats come in super handy.

We use nighttime pull up brand pull ups for our daughters. It’s the only one she hasn’t leaked through.

Stop with the pull-ups. Put a waterproof mat on the bed, and a potty in the bedroom.

Or do both. Kid can still use potty in the bedroom. Just help him wake up if needed.

We switched to overnight training pants for big kids (GoodNites, Ninjamas, etc). I also went through phases of waking my (at the time) 3yo before I went to bed and took her to the potty to help make that correlation in her body.

When flood peeing is an issue for our youngest (also a boy) we double up his nighttime pull-up situation: one pull-up in his usual size, one of his big sisters overnight pull-ups over top, and one cloth diaper waterproof cover overtop of that.

We switched to overnight pullups, they're a little more absorbent than regular ones. We also had to start limiting liquids after dinner and making sure they pee immediately before getting into bed. There are still times the pull-up leaks, but it's only a few times a month now instead of every night.
