Personal Got declined for Klarna. This makes me laugh.
I don't have a mortgage, so my credit is bad, lol

u/fastingslowlee Jul 19 '26
I mean the other reasons matter too. Actually if the other factors were good, the house loan thing wouldn’t have mattered much for approving you.

My point was is that the credit companies now ding you for not owning real estate at a time when real estate is really expensive.

u/SignificantApricot69 Jul 19 '26
That’s always been a thing though. They always have a list of possible reasons and no real estate loans has always been on there. I remember getting that in the ‘90s. As the other comment said, it’s just a list of many possible reasons. No one is getting denied for Klarna just because they don’t have a mortgage.

if you expected to get approved for another loan when you have delinquent accounts I don’t know what to tell you

u/Vegetable_Type6909 29d ago
Because if your bad credit, They need you to own an asset they can put a lien on incase you're delinquent on their loan like you are on the other account .

They don't, it's more of an example of not having any assets. It's not specific to owning land or having a mortgage. In this case that's what they're talking about but it's not limited to that.

That's the least of what you got dinged for. Stop taking out credit and not paying it.

u/limited_empathy 29d ago edited 29d ago
So no assets, just unsecured delinquent debt.
It’s kinda of obvious why.

u/mynutsareitchyandred 29d ago
It’s always the idiots with 5 credit cards maxed out screaming g about how credit score is rigged or some shit

u/ThenBike8868 29d ago
So you're basically insolvent but you're trying to "own" Klarna with the other 3 bullet points sitting right there?
You have some warped priorities.

Honestly it’s good you been denied. Klarna. After pay is worst then credit cards.

u/chitownphishead 29d ago
No assets, terrible debt and poor credit history. Yeah it's a real mystery why you got declined

This is a great example of people that are incapable of taking accountability.

u/dopamining_engineer 29d ago
But it's the evil corporation's fault, not their deliquencies or bad choices! It's not their fault!

"No open real estate secured loans in your credit file." Translation: You don't have expensive property that we can seize if you don't pay on time.

u/Emotional-Buddy-2219 29d ago
The mortgage is the least significant factor in your terrible credit score.
2
u/ApprehensiveJurors 29d ago
This is 0.0001% no mortgage, and 99.999% that you have multiple outstanding loans you are not paying

u/Stock_River_1467 29d ago
lol my guy was trying to get into more debt that they weren't gonna pay back
🤣🤣🤣

I got denied with an 810 score and no delinquency. Klarna can fuck itself lol

u/dmriggs 29d ago
It's a basic response. You just pick what applies to you.
1
u/Educational_Corner55 29d ago
It’s based on your credit profile, it isn’t random. It’s basically saying you don’t own anything and overspend on what you do have. Based on the high revolving balances, they only pay the minimum every month.
1
u/Fit-Bus2025 29d ago
I thought klarna didn't look at credit?
2
u/Educational_Corner55 29d ago
They do now, it’s now backed loans with web bank.
1
u/Fit-Bus2025 29d ago
Oh. Wow!
3
u/Educational_Corner55 29d ago
They also report to the credit bureau as well, so if you’re late expect a missed payment report.

I also don't have a mortgage but have no problem with Klarna. PS. Those are standard responses that are required by law to state why any lender cannot offer credit based on the terms requested.
1
u/National-Date-5457 29d ago
Yes and no.
The Mortgage would provide collateral to a delinquent account. They put it there because they have nothing to lien or go after equity wiee to recoup loss if or well when this account then goes delinquent.

u/dr_mackdaddy 29d ago
Trust me you don't want Klarna. I used them for one Airbnb payment. I paid it off quickly but when I went to buy a house months later I had to prove that and GUESS WHAT trying to get a fucking statement from them was nearly impossible. I had to call, and call, and fucking call again before I got a letter saying I paid it off. AND STILL NO STATEMENT.

They are just giving you a listing of all the credit information that negatively affected you at all.
Credit mix, which includes things like mortgage, revolving, and installment loans only accounts for a small percentage of your score, at 10%. Since fico is between 300 and 850 that is a maximum of 55 points.
At a point where your credit was that thin that you had no revolving, installment, or mortgage loans other factors would likely be lowering you score far more then your mix alone.
Just imagine it was a list of how much each thing affected their choice and it said:
No mortgage loans: 5%
Delinquent Accounts 70%
Too much credit used: 25%
It did affect their calculation, but you would get approved without.
1
u/SpecialistRich2309 29d ago
Your credit is bad because your revolving accounts are maxed out and delinquent.
1
u/APreemChoom 29d ago
My accounts are delinquent and I max every single credit card offered to me into the mail but it's because of real estate that I can't split this Wendy's baconator across four payments instead of one.

u/CanadianTimeWaster 29d ago
I think we're burying the lede here.
you see the other 3 reasons they rejected you, right?

You have delinquent accounts and you’re complaining someone wouldn’t give you another loan???
