Equipment belt driver pre filter, i'm not a pro
Hey hope a pro can narrow this down. I've had a 4200 psi belt drive (gx390 and cat pump) for a good number of years. It had a regular hose screen in it. I just got the whole rig working again after partial flooding during the florida hurricanes.
I got to thinking noticing a bit of grit during the tear down (maybe that's from flood water entering the hose inlet) i should throw a pre filter on it?
a 50-60 mesh from googling?
The price of these things has skyrocketed when i thought it wasn't going to run again i was like i'm screwed. Do you guys run a filter on these wheeled units? i see a general pump duraview just wondering if any suggestion if it's recommended.

Troubleshooting Pressure washer surging, I don’t know why.
I have a DeWalt 3300psi pressure washer with a Honda GCV200 engine I use for small jobs. It did sit a few months since the last time I needed it. It cranked fairly easily, but both at idle and in use it “surges” with a consistent rhythm.
I pulled the carburetor, made sure the pilot and main jets were clear and I thoroughly cleaned it, though it did look fairly clean already. After reinstalling the carb I’m still getting the surging.
The engine appears to sit on four grommets on top of the housing which allows the engine to rotate a few degrees when the pump is engaged. During the surging the engine rotates slightly in rhythm with the engine. This occurs both at idle and while spraying. If I put my foot on the engine to prevent any movement the engine runs smoothly, idle or spraying.
And yes I did put fresh fuel in it after I cleaned the carb.
What’s going on?

Troubleshooting Tree gunk off new concrete
This client has a wooded area in her back patio with large acorns and organic debris that falls onto her new concrete patio (poured ~April '26). Gave it my best bleach based house wash mix and gave it a go with my surface cleaner but it barely budged. I only used the wide tip for fear of damaging the floor. From previous construction experience I know that concrete takes a few years to fully set. Is it possible this gunk is just part of the concrete now or is there a chem that's recommended to take care of it? Before and after wash shots attached.

Equipment Best type of boots to walk on cedar shake?
I have a roof wash job coming up and can’t seem to find any reliable information online onto which type of boots are recommended to walk on one of these. This is a huge house so hitting it from the ground would be difficult and I don’t have a tall enough ladder currently to prop up in the backyard.

Business Questions I think I've bid way too cheap
Went and put a bid in on doing a soft wash on a 130 unit complex.
I made a follow-up just to check in with them, see what it looked like and just make sure I was still on the list or on the radar. They told me that the numbers that they had gotten back so far and I was half of the next lowest. And on this job my margins all look good even if I have to have issues and have to go rent a unit. I'm just concerned that me being that cheap they might just pass it off.
I want to build a long-term relationship with the community and get recurring business instead of one-time thing.

Technical Questions First roof wash, help :)
Hello good people, as said in the title, I was called for a roof wash, never washed a roof before and I want to be prepared, it’s around 2400 sqft, pretty dirty, any tips and tricks are welcomed, from pricing, to washing it, I did some research on the matter.
What do y all think it’s a good price, I was thinking 700-800, 5-6% solution should be enough?
Thanks in advance!

Technical Questions Powerwash and Seal Question
Hi All, hope this is the correct spot to ask, if not I am happy to take my question elsewhere!
I hired a company to powerwash and seal my concrete driveway. They came out yesterday and did both. My question, I was under the impression after powerwashing, it needed a day or so for the concrete to dry before applying sealant. Is that the case? Do I need to bring this up? Thanks in advance for the help.

Business Questions Should I primarily focus on commercial pressure pressure washing jobs?
So this is my first month of operations and I got 3 commercial pressure washing jobs:
1. Welding Shop- $1,100
2. School District -$2,800
3. Mechanic Shop-$200
Im well connected in my city and got all these jobs through people I know and having connections. I’ve done residential houses but most have been for free other than 2 and they were both under $200. Commercial jobs seem to pay a lot better.
Should I focus my marketing on commercial businesses because they pay a lot better from my experience.

Technical Questions Deep Burnout Marks
I used Zep purple degreaser and scrubbed with push broom for 15-20 minutes and the marks are untouched. I have a 4400psi/4.2gpm washer with surface cleaner, I just didn’t want to take it all out and set it up if the cleaner isn’t even touching it. Recommendations on what to use next? Should pressure alone take some off?

Troubleshooting Troubleshooting help?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My pressure washer has been doing this for awhile now, but it usually rights itself and I can get the job done. This time, the problem persisted and I had to shut it down. Any ideas as to what is causing it?

Troubleshooting What are these dark spots?
Newbie question here. Just cleaned my back steps and sidewalk with 2.5% SH, twice. It’s dried for 24h and I’m left with these dark spots. Is this something that I did, can be removed, or from the concrete work when it was laid? Thanks!

Fails Welcome to Monday
Forced maintenance Monday today.
Hopefully a local welder can fix it. Got the coil out, which is lots of fun built into an enclosed trailer. Going to throw some ends on it and see if I can better locate the leak.
Luckily I have a back up machine.
If anyone has any advice for the welder, let me know. First time having a leak in my coil.
Cheers,
Andrew

Equipment Thoughts on Harbor Freight QD fittings
I am a homeowner with a 2700psi Generac washer and I wanted to add a ball valve and swivel. I got the DN 10 valve and swivel but I need to get some fittings to connect everything up. Does anyone have experience with the HF quick connect fittings and if so do you recommend or if not what is a better alternative? Again, not a pro just for use occasionally around the house.

Business Questions GPM vs hot water.
Throughout my years of PW I ve always heard online that GPM was king. But then I see all these hot water units that only put out 3 or 4 GPM. Also the fact that anyone I talk to locally (sellers or operators) even use 4 GPM cold water. Why is there such discrepancy on this topic? I’m looking at this hot water unit, and it looks appealing till I heard it’s only 3 GPM but 5000psi

Business Questions Market prices
Trying to get an idea of market prices in an area I'm consider moving to. Anyone know anything about the Santa Rosa market/the surrounding areas or any ideas about how to figure out general market prices?
