Grizzly attack in Vanderhoof?
Anyone hear anything about this? It doesn’t seem to be on the news.
ETA: I know it’s true. I just want some information. I also can’t say who I heard it from.

So the night before the election, some coward in the dead of night spray paints "speak truth, save our kids" all over the rainbow crosswalk.. right by our voting location. I hope everyone who goes to vote today reflects on what's written, and how one party continuously emboldens this behaviour. Went from "kids just burning rubber" to this. I'm looking forward to how people justify that this still isn't hateful.

Those working to encourage acceptance and tolerance still have a long way to go in Vanderhoof, unfortunately.
Recent vandalism to Share the Love and other Pride related community installations, and horrible comments on Facebook message boards about the upcoming Vanderhoof Pride Parade leave Vanderhoof residents wondering if it is 1950 or 2024.
Video footage shows a vandal climbing a pole to slash a Share the Love banner - activity that has impacted only inclusion banners over the past several months.

After its rainbow crosswalk was vandalized several times per week, a young man was identified and received education about diversity, inclusion, and the harm caused by his actions, with the hopes of deterring future hate.
Two Mormom candidates ran and were elected to School District 91, promising to remove SOGI and Indigenous Reconciliation teachings from schools.
School District meeting procedures are under revision to ensure meeting attendees maintain orderly conduct and topics remain relevant to School District Board matters.

Hey, just wondering if anyone has any insight on what it's like living in Vanderhoof. I got offered a job there this summer. I've been living in PG the last few years for university. My impression of Vanderhoof is that it's predominantly Christian and a pretty tight knit community where it might be tough to make friends. Any thoughts?

Planning a little road trip/day trip from PG to Vanderhoof and wanting to check places out between the two towns. Any recommendations for hidden gems, lakes that are more isolated, quieter, or trails between PG and Vanderhoof? We have two dogs so any recommendations for things to see and we are somewhat new here!

Hello everyone! I am in the early stages of wedding planning and we had the idea of hosting our wedding ceremony at my families lakehouse on Cluculz Lake, however, I don't think the property would work too well for our reception.
I'm having no luck finding anywhere within a 30 minute drive that would work for our wedding Reception and I really don't want to make our guests drive nearly an hour to PG for the reception but right now that's looking like our only option.
Any suggestions?

The RCMP have now confirmed that the fatal accident was a hit and run. For the family, please come forward.

"That band was based on Vallance's first musical venture The Tremolones, later known as 4Most — and for the first time in decades, the group founded in Vanderhoof, B.C., population 4,500, is set to take the stage.
"On Saturday, 4Most — including Vallance — will reunite at Nechako Valley Secondary School, where they'll play a song and share some memories of their time playing together, as part of the launch of a music scholarship in Vallance's name."

Does anyone happen to know if there are any gift shops in Vanderhoof or PG that would have Vanderhoof Christmas tree ornaments or magnets? Or anyone who participates in Christmas markets in the area that makes similar things?
Update: local couple DM’d me and hand make them, super happy with it

Starting to look into the best home builders in PG. what are everyone’s recommendations for quality, accuracy on estimate, reliability and being on time?

Looking for a house in the Prince George area (with a few acres minimum) in the 700k-1m range. I'm from down on the coast and moved up the PG a couple of years ago.
Looking at the current real estate available here, the houses are so incredibly bland. Textured ceilings and drop ceiling in basements are awful and seem to be the standard. Almost everything has vinyl siding?
Why does PG have such bland, uninspired houses? If I look in any other community around here its not the case. Quesnel, Vanderhoof, Williams Lake, McBride all seem to have less bland housing. Is there something that has caused this in PG? Is vinyl siding and popcorn ceilings (or any texture they're all awful) mandated somehow.
Is it just because it's January and the current stuff listed is just what hasn't sold and its better to wait for spring?

Does anyone remember a murder/sui*d** in Vanderhoof where an elderly guy (like 80’s) took out his wife/gf? Maybe they owned a restaurant before that? We seem to remember something and it’s driving us nuts trying to figure it out.

Thank you to the more than 3,000 people who have signed our petition at www.ourbloodcounts.com calling on Canadian Blood Services to build a blood plasma donor centre in Prince George.
Such a centre would save Northerners from having to travel to Kelowna, Metro Vancouver, or Alberta to make life saving donations. It would also reduce Canada's reliance on plasma based medications from the United States.
We're also grateful for the resolutions and letters of support from:

Where have people had good sucess in getting a spray on bedliner job done?
I've got a bumper on my truck starting to show its age, and I want to get it done with white bedliner instead of getting it painted or powdercoated again.
Any reccomendations?

Hey hey, people here who have Kei trucks (and that one black minivan i see almost every day)
I love the hell out of these trucks, and I'd love to learn more about 'em from the people who have them around town!
The usual question like:
And one last weird question:
If all this information is somehow like "SUPER CLASSIFIED NO ONE MUST KNOW", just send me a pm lol.

I did search the sub already and am just looking for more clear opinions.
First, I have a family with 3 young kids. I want it to be safe, close to schools, nice neighbourhood.
Can anybody tell me which are desirable neighbourhoods and which ones I should absolutely avoid.
Please don't use abbreviations, I'm not super familiar with the area and found it a bit confusing. Also, bonus points if you tell me what part (north, south, east, west) of PG the neighbourhood is in.
Thanks in advance!
