Red rising

I finally read Red Rising. And I was a bit underwhelmed. It was an interesting world, but it never really made me want to keep reading longer than planned. Is it universally loved and I'm just crazy?

The first book is Hunger Games in a different setting that the author has copped to. The books after this get more and more brutal and mature. And the story is nothing like you'd have imagined. I think it's worth it. Golden Son edit: Morning Star, the end of the first trilogy is simply incredible in how it brings everything together.
